Perfect size and functionality
This is a timeless work of art. I have several Buck knives. This one, is the perfect balance of size and functionality. I also got the cross draw sheath offered at purchase which I have not received just yet. I will review that later. This knife came quickly and shaves hair right outta the box. Looks great, feels great! Buck knives hold their edge really really good. I hunt a lot so I rely on good blades for most of my outdoor tasks. Buck always delivers. I have dang near all the Buck family of knives but this is my favorite one so far. Can’t stop playing around with it, getting the feel of it. It’s great! Get one and you will not regret it. Well worth the money.

Buck quality
Nice knife. Super sharp. I have had the Woodsman for 7 years and it is super tough. This is a larger version and also has solid build quality. Made in the USA.

All around outdoors knife, pulverizes any challege it faces! Great knife overall.
Today I'm reviewing the Buck 119, as yall probably know already. The only flaw of this knife comes from a plus; the button clasp on the sheath is hard to open, which is, as i said, good AND bad. The blade is a good steel, fairly resistant to rust in my usage, and features a nice clip-point design. I love the phenolic handle because it shifts the weight forward if i need to chop or do precise work. The handle is pretty chunky too!

BUCK 119 Special Pro
After reviewing descriptions, photos, videos, and write-ups of several MADE IN USA fixed-blade knives, I selected the Buck 119 Special Pro. For my applications it is the right combination of total length, handle length, blade length, blade type, materials, etc. I also value the Micarta handle for its reduced slipperiness. The knife arrived promptly and in good condition. Upon opening I was pleased to see Buck's unusually good packaging. Their box system (overbox, box, interior platform) reminded me of Apple's. To me it says a lot about a company when their packaging is top quality. The knife, itself, arrived in perfect condition. Since I already have two "museum quality" knives that just sit in a drawer, I have vowed to really put this 119 to use in my forest - my intended application. So, I don't have any qualms about getting this knife messy. It is clearly up to the challenge. The hard and sharp 90 degree edges on the back of the blade are perfect for use with a ferro rod. The hilt is large enough to reduce the chance of any accidental cuts. And, it is asymetrical, enabling fine cutting work such as making feather sticks. The grip fits my hand nicely. The weight and balance suit me just fine. The blade alloy is excellent for my intended purposes. The thru-handle tang is what I need for my rough treatment. When it comes to knives, there is no such thing as the one perfect item. This 119 is now my largest knife and is great for the rugged, coarse work I do while maintaining my forest. It is an excellent compliment to my Leatherman multitool blade and my in-pocket Victorinox Classic. Buck offers a range (sizes, functions, etc.) of knives for this exact reason. I am 100% confident that this MADE IN AMERICA knife will do everything I ask of it for as long as I live.

Best knife I’ve ever owned.
Very sharp and strong. I shot sparks off it with my ferro rod. Love the handle. I split small logs/wood with it - the full tang held up great. I highly recommend.

A great knife at an affordable price.
The 119 Special Hunting knife is very well made. It has a 6” blade that comes razor sharp out of the box. This is the one knife to take with you when you go camping.

You will love it
Beautiful piece of work , The fit, the finish. Nice size and a good weight. Feels good in my xl hand. Kind of a nostalgia feel and looks, unlike all this newer “tactical” looking stuff. I love it, Next up for the collection is the 120 , already have the 105. Which by the way is also a super piece of gear. Thanks BUCK for making a fantastic product, at a reasonable price in America 👍

Fantastic knife.
I’m not sure anything needs to be said about the 119. Arguably one of the most famous trusted knives in history and know for great durability. I would give it more stars if I could. Very sharp so be careful!
