Talens Art Creation Sketchbook Black 12X12 cm, 140 Grams

This is a lovely little sketchbook that is easily carried with you at all times for spontaneously sketching when something catches your attention. The paper is creamy and durable, able to accept ink and watercolor without wrinkling or bleeding--although alcohol marker will bleed to the other side--and the covers are hardboard, covered with a faux leather. It feels good in your hands, which is a big plus, as it encourages you to want to draw more. The paper is sewn in such a way as to mnimize the center crease, so you can draw on both left and right sides. I bought three, and designated them People, Places, and Things.

I love the paper. They texture is so smooth and it’s thickness is good for pencil sketches, dry materials. I’ve used marker on it, but colored pencil is best.

I have many of these sketchbooks in several sizes. I carry at least one with me at all times. I have used them with a variety of different mediums including graphite, colored pencil, pen and ink, gouache, and watercolor. All these mediums worked great. I am conservative with water for the watercolor so I have not had any trouble with the paper buckling. I like the cream color of the paper and like the fact that the first page and the cover lining are the same size I can use them to start my book with a spread on both pages.

The sketchbook is a square, 4/34" inches on all sides. It's comfortable in the hand, with nice quality binding, and easy to carry. The substantial, but not heavy, paper tolerates watercolor, at least a light wash, and possibly heavier work, but you will see some puckering on the reverse side of the page, but no bleeding through.

This little sketch book is well worth buying. It holds up to paint well even water color but don't use to much water 😁 it's the best size for traveling just drop it in my bag and go. I'm a real consumer not a fake lol.

The size makes it the perfect sketchbook on the go. I love the quality. I'll be buying more in the future.

J'ai déjà utilisé ce carnet que je balade dans mon sac un peu partout. Au bout d'un an, l'élastique se détend légèrement, le dos plisse un peu à force d'utilisations mais ça reste normal et très acceptable. Le papier tient bien quand on fait des dessins aquarellés, à l'encre ou au feutre... Idem pour le collage. Le petit format carré est pratique car facile à transporter .. Bref pratique et agréable à utiliser!

Piccolo e pratico, adatto per chi viaggia spesso (anche pendolari). La cosa che mi piace di più oltre alla copertina super rigida è la carta! Davvero alta qualità, non ha fatto trapassare nemmeno una goccia della mia china e non è diventata ondulata. Ho fatto un test con i pantoni e quelli ahimè passano, ma solo sul retro della pagina stessa, senza intaccare le altre. Per chi utilizza spesso pantoni o marker ad alcool consiglio di usare un foglio di una rivista dietro alla pagina che si colora, per sicurezza, e nelle facciate con le macchie di lavorare su dei post it oppure con degli acrilici/tempere/guache coprenti. In foto due lavoretti veloci, la pagina con la china (a pennello) e il retro eseguito con una matita dura.
