Update: like others mine stopped working. The leak detector would never reconnect. It initially worked. It seems like the firmware update it constantly wants to do broke it. It is now useless to me. Would be great if I knew how to reset it. .....Original review: At this time I have only had the Guardian for a few days. Installation and setup went well, and as long as you follow the instructions, it should go well for anyone. I bought the kit with only 1 sensor as I was a little worried about how well this system would/will work.Downloaded the app and here is a tip; plug in the Valve Controller first. It is easy to add the devices to your app-- the Valve controller had to go through some updates.I tested the system putting water on the leak detector as well as the extender and all went well. The alert to your phone is very fast. The valve controller automatically closed when sensors were wet. I was able to re-open the valve from my phone.CONCERNS: I worry about the stability of the valve controller unit to stay connected to my home Wifi. So far, in the short time I've had it this has NOT been a problem.I plan to test the system out every week for a month and report back here with the results. If all goes well I hope to buy more detectors and sensor probes.To me, this product seems like the BEST system available. You don't have to cut into your water line, which I think is a huge plus. It actually turns off the main water when a leak is detected. Exactly what I was looking for if I were to design a system myself.

The app and support were horrible from the get go. Despite that, the product was setup and worked ok. Then an update came out and everything stopped working. Trying to get any sort of help is near impossible. Replaced with the YoLink product and that is infinitely better

Tech support was quick and helpful, but never got system to connect via wifi. Very unhappy.

I purchased this unit, it was working great. The app needed updating, did it. Tried to reconnect the valve control, valve needed new firmware update. 10 minutes, HA! 5 hours later, just kept flashing. Then the lights cycled, tried to reconnect, nothing. Emailed support, tried a bunch of different things, nothing. They said they would contact me about a replacement unit. 2 weeks later still nothing. Ive been emailing them, no response.

I had a total of three of these all did not work. Had several people verify that Wi-Fi was working, and this would never fully connect to it. I returned two of the units, Reeg, guardian gave us a third one for free. After hours of time trying to set this up, I’m just throwing the third one in the trash where it belongs.

I really like the way this unit clamps to BOTH sides of the valve....which is what I needed. I have PEX pipe on both sides of my water main, and needed something that would be OK in that application. This product was physically VERY easy to install. However, after fudging around with the app for 30+ minutes, I ended up calling in to tech support. They had to do some things on their end of the server to eventually get the unit up and running. Then, the leak detector was faulty, and a new one was sent.While these initial install problems were a bit frustrating, once up and running this unit has been flawless. I have it installed on a second home. I use it to turn off the water main when we are leaving, and turn it on when we arrive. I also like the peace of mind that if I accidentally forget, I can still turn it off from miles away.

The Guardian will shut your water valve once installed but it won’t work from remote sensors, which is the reason it is installed. The company claims Amazon is permitting third party sellers who market old models with serious flaws that won’t connect to a network, won’t network with remote sensors and won’t update. If you buy one of these through Amazon, like I did, you have thrown your money away.

Will not hook up or update, they don't even have the right number on the card for customer service, which is non-existent, complete waste of your money don't buy it
