Beautiful Rhododendrons from Green Promise Farms
I ordered six “Scintillation” rhododendrons, size 3 containers, on Monday afternoon. They were delivered Thursday midday. The packaging was superb. They arrived in perfect condition — every branch, leaf and bud was intact — and to my amazement, they were in glorious full bloom. My, oh my, so beautiful! The plants themselves are obviously very healthy with deep green shiney leaves, no blemishes whatsoever. I had been a bit hesitant to order nursery plants through Amazon, but this was order from Green Promise Farms was a five star success! I would not hesitant to order from them again.

Just received the Rhoadie i ordered - the Nova Zembla!! Im very excited as it looks to be in good health & is much larger than I expected. Stands in its pot 3 feet tall. Arrived very green and with a moist root ball. Very well packaged. I plan on planting it in an area that is total shade. The last one I bought from home depot was much smaller and died on me for some reason within a month of planting?!! Maybe I planted it to deep and with the wrong black cow soil?!?! This time I’ll use regular garden soil with fertilizer in it and not as deep! Fingers crossed this one takes & Lasts as I’m reading many reviews on here stating same thing _ plants start out well then die?!? I’m using this plant as a hedge eventually that will hide my trash receptacles!?!

Top quality for an unbelievable price that includes shipping
I have over 50 rhododendrons I ordered and planted on my property over the last few years. I am adding another 40 this year. I can tell you that for current internet sourcing this is the best quality and price, including shipping. If you are interested in the varieties offered by Green Promise Farm don't hesitate. I have received both #3 (Nova Zembla & Independence) and #2 pots (Scintillation & Album). All are stout, well branched, and healthy. The #3 Nova Zembla was significantly larger than the #2, the #3 Independence had multiple (up to 6 base breaks which is like getting 6 plants in one pot). I am very pleased by the consistent quality 3 years running. I am also pleased that I can order the plants in late March or early April for Zone 5 and receive them right away, still dormant such that they can acclimate with out frost damage. All of the Rhodies I have sourced from the West Coast zone 8 have come in May, 4 weeks ahead of where my plants should be and all have endured frost damage. Also the sweet aroma of the buds and flowers attracts hungry wild life where a plant in sync with zone 5 will not. Truly I would only source out of Green Promise if I could get all the varieties I want. Finally if you are creating a privacy hedge or doing a larger landscape project you can get 20 or more of the same variety and the same quality / size plant. - Scott's Wife Autumn

Too Beautiful to Photograph Accurately
The color of the blooms can't be replicated by my camera. Have to see this color in person to believe how gorgeous the blooms truly are. Plant arrived well packed and arrived in late February. Kept it indoors and well hydrated until two weeks ago. We've had a lot of rain in central Virginia recently so the water table is pretty high. Soggy clay soil might be too much for this young plant. I have attempted to amend the soil a bit. There was standing water in the hole after digging 18"! I hoped that by adding peat and garden soil back into the hole helps. I built a plant box to put around the plant to add more soil. Since these plants generally have a shallow root system, I'm hoping this half planter/half in ground planting may make this guy happy until it establishes itself. If it likes its new spot, this could be a prized planting in my yard to add beauty for many years to come. They can live for 20 years or more. I've read not to fertilize when it's about to bloom. Rhododendrons & azaleas are acid-loving plants. Will fertilize when it has finished blooming. The price tag was pretty steep-I remember buying small azaleas and rhododendrons for less than $10 but I guess that was some time ago & this is a special color/variety. I recommend researching about any plant you want to buy so that you don't buy something that needs more light, specific soil needs, sheltering or becomes so aggressive, it's too much to bother with. I hate wasting money, time & energy just trying to keep a sickly plant alive. My fingers are crossed this beauty likes its new home.

Blue Baron & Polarnacht bloomed the first spring, then died
Update on Green Promise Farms shrubs: We ordered 2 rhodies twice: Polarnacht and Blue Baron. They arrived in stellar condition. We planted the Polarnachts in October and March in Maryland, and they both bloomed the following April. Then they both died in the fall. The leaves turned yellow and fell off. We took good care of them and gave them acidic food and ample water. We planted other mini rhododendrons from Home Depot at the same time, and they're thriving. I contacted Green Promise Farms in CT via their online form. I received an email confirmation for the form submission, but the company never replied within 3 weeks. Green Promise Farms has no phone number, which usually indicates an inferior company. Here's what I submitted in my form inquiry to Green Promise Farms along with our order number and a photo: "Hello. This is my second Polarnacht rhodi order from you. Last fall the first one lost all its leaves. Then the landscapers pruned it, believing it was a rosebush. I ordered another one in March this year. It grew and bloomed. Now it's dropping leaves again. Some are yellow, so I gave it acidic food. Is this variety supposed to drop its leaves for the winter? I live in Maryland, and this is planted in a morning sun, afternoon shade location." We also planted a Blue Baron in October last year (died the following summer) and again in September this year. So far the one we planted 2 weeks ago this September is doing fine. The blossoms on the first one were purple and not blue. I wouldn't buy from this unresponsive company again.
