My husband has wanted a kilt for awhile, so the kids and I got him one for Fathers day. The product itself is very well made and he loves it. One thing to be aware of. We measured him several times at 48. Because some of the reviews noted that the 40+ size had the three snap configuration, we opted to buy the 46. (He has been losing weight recently, so I thought this would be fine.) The kilt arrived quickly, he tried it on...and it fell off. LOL We were both giggling hysterically. The return was easy and I ordered him a 42, keeping in mind the few inches of adjustment with the three snap configuration. He loves is. It's a bit snug currently, but with working out it won't be for long. I would suggest if you are ordering a size over 40, ordering a size smaller and be open to potentially having to exchange it. Otherwise its perfect!

Waistline eyelet buckles help keep at naval line, but unfortunately the one eyelet that fits my best posture is compromised; the eyelet that had fit into the fabric hole did not line up at the factory so I will need to epoxy "weld" around that grommet to help its possible longevity. I use mine for "modern/ hiker" so I am glad it is not a true wool fabric, but this lightweight material surely is better for hot days. Careful, it is so light that a quick breeze WILL lift full material above the waist! I still do not have a hankering to learn bagpipes, but I will keep that talent for my friends! Cheers!

I ordered this just so I could play along at local renaissance festivals and it worked great. Material feels high grade in my opinion. Looks a bit rugged for the man who's still unsure of wearing a kilt. I absolutely enjoyed wearing it for a day of renaissance fun. Honestly, trying to figure out other events to wear it too.

The actual kilt is well made and looks really nice. I'd imagine if you're a shorter person it may be too long. But for the money you spend on this, it's well worth it. I know a lot of people here said it's true to size, or close. But my husband wears a 36 and I bought a 38. There is NO room for adjustments. I returned it, no biggy, got a 40, and there are extra snaps on that size. So he can go up or down a couple inches... if the 38 had that he could of fit. Overall. I highly suggest you give it a go. Measure yourself thoroughly!

I am not one to write a review. My fiance absolutely loves the kilt we ordered, it is high quality and is sure the make our wedding special. But can I take a moment to say how amazing the customer service is. They were so prompt with answering my many many questions. I would highly recommend this kilt and and this company to anyone.

I am a size 36 pants with some beer belly. I ordered the 40 With the adjustable fit on the snaps at the waist and straps at the hips I have them as tight as the snaps go and have an extra notch on the straps. Fits well. Feels even a little loose maybe. I bet I could have ordered the 38 and fit in it, but errored toward big just in case. I am curious about the "Dry clean only" instructions though. I am planning to get one of those home dry cleaning kits for $10. The black picks up alot of pet hair. Get a lint roller with your purchase

had trouble keeping the box pleat as neat as i would like. could down size but not up size. this should be noted on the description, or did i just miss it.
