My garden has a new Sheriff in town.
Wow! I bought this as I had a beech hedge that was in such a difficult place to trim, it got out of control. Beech hedge will quickly revert to trees as soon as you turn your back. These two trunks merged to form an uber-beech trunk, siamesed at 5ft high. I did manage to lop it, but I was faced with a strange wooden arch that fought off my reciprocating saw, emasculating its (and my) pride. A new shed needed the space, so this meant war. The beech trunks at 40 years old were lifting slabs. It was no longer a demure hedge but threatening to take over. With my reciprocating saw out of the fight, and both batteries dead. I bought this bad lad, whom I have lovingly named the 'Max b'stard 9000'. It did not disappoint. It needed some assembly out of the box, which was simple enough. Some oil in the tank, I used 3-in-1. I have heard that vegetable oil works well, but I prefer my chips cooked in that. Threading the chain onto the spocket and through the guard rail was a little fiddly, but easy enough. Calmer hands would prevail easily. I used my oil can to drop a little of its amber magic onto the sprocket to soak in. I'm old school, you do not have to, but like the essential things in life, it is best to be well-lubed before going in. Once fastened, tensioning the chain was simple with a couple of turns on the big nob. No, not the operator, but a dial on the chainsaw. There is a chain brake, which is engaged when you get it. A hearty pull on the brake, some power, and woah! Get behind me, Satan. Literally, get right behind this thing. Point, pull the trigger (with a dead man's button - reassuring). On contact, it has an auto power setting from 'nibble' to 'devour everything in its path'. At full chat, it was all over very quickly - story of my life. The wife was watching (supervising) and could barely look, while I got to work earning stars on my man badge. There was no vibration, smooth as a hot knife through butter, and whilst I was hanging on (wary of kickback - it didn't), I stamped my authority on this mutant beech. It was on the floor faster than a vertically challenged Italian footballer in the 6-yard box. At 5kg in weight, it has some heft but not so heavy that it's a chore. It chomped through the trunks in about three minutes flat. Some man handling the trunks, and more nom-nom from the chainsaw, they are in manageable chunks, with the wife saying "Are you finished yet?" Story of my life. If you are new to chainsaws (like me - but a keen power tools enthusiast), or fancy something in your arsenal to keep your garden in check, this is the chainsaw to get. It would not manage anything like a big tree (it would have a good try, but would probably break). It is a brilliant piece of kit, and any tree in that difficult mid-life crisis period is easy prey. The chain supplied was up to the job, no idea on longevity, but I might treat it to a more premium one, I am that enamoured. Reasonable money, very well put together, did the job with ease. In a house with a wife and two teenage daughters. I am back as head of the household and not the bald headed, tubby irrelevance and part-time taxi driver. Five stars, recommended, and the hedges that border our house have a new Sheriff in town.

Great buy
Easy to assemble and operate. It’s fairly light but cuts well and was a good price. I used it to fell two conifers with trunks about 16 inches in diameter and then to cut the trunks into smaller sections. It wasn’t as powerful or as quick as a petrol saw but did the job without problems quickly enough. It comes with a long cable which is a great advantage. It doesn’t come with chain lubricant so you have to buy that separately. It’s very easy to adjust the chain tension. Very happy to recommend it.

Hyundai 16 inch HYC 2400E MODEL CHAIN SAW
The chain saw itself is brilliant. No problems putting it together. The chain saw blade that came with the chain saw was rubbish. I only used it for 2 hours and had to buy some more blades ( savior3 16 inch chain saw blades ) Also had to buy chain saw oil as the chain saw comes without any. After these problem have used the saw for 4/5 hours today cutting 2/3 inch logs and branches, and Ican honestly say the chain saw has performed very well. I would have given it 5 star but the chain saw blade let it down.

An ideal piece of kit , goggles and boots on , plug in and you’re away
The electric chain saw is just the job for cutting small to medium logs easily , it doesn’t waver and gives a nice clean cut . The price for the item is excellent.

2400W 16 Inch Electric Chainsaw - Much better than I was expecting
Thought I’d give this a go, as slightly intimidated by the thought of a chain saw, and this really surprised me. It effortlessly brought down an established eucalyptus tree that sadly had to go before it did some damage, and its been helping me prune tree branches ever since - well worth the money, easy to use and I was way more comfortable using this than I ever would be a full on chainsaw. But don’t think that the price or the fact that it’s electric means that this doesn’t do the job well because it 100% does.

First time- perfect.
Read how to fill oil & How to correctly fit and tension chain. First job sawing a 12" log into sections. So much power. Quick , quiet, and well engineered. I am nearly 80 and the weight / balance no problem. Never look at petrol saws ever again. Well done Hyundai perfect as usual.

Waste if money and a lot of aggravation
I'm not surprised this chansaw is not currently available. Bought in February 2021 it lasted a week or so. The revs were variable even when just switching it on. It came with a Mickey Mouse chain (thin with short cutting teeth). It is underpowered and I found it very frustrating it was taking twice as long to do any cutting, compared with all other chainsaws I have used. There was a flash from within just after switching on, and it was dead. Then started the aggravation which lasted months. Hyundai refused to replace it saying that because I had cut the cable by accident, it had rendered the saw defunct. This was not so because I had used it for a couple of days after. They did not send a replacement until August only after I had told them I had involved Kent Trading Standards and reminded them of my basic statutory rights. I did not use the replacement until just before Christmas. Same variable revs and feeling of lack of power. It lasted one hour. The chain flipped of (and believe me, I was careful with its assembly) and in the two or three spins before the blade stopped spinning, it stripped the inside of the adjusting mechanism and the top of the pins holding the rail. It then needed adjusting after every cut. Finally the motor would not turn (a different problem that suddenly started) and the lighting stayed on red, as though there was a fault with the internal braking. I could go on but you get the idea. Rather than battle with Hyundai again, I cut off the length of cable and plug for use elsewhere and dumped the saw in the recycling. An £82 plug and bit of lead is what I come away with, with most of the tree pruning around our place still needing doing. I replaced it with an Einhell, a proper saw and cheaper. Obviously I do not recommend the Hyundai.

OK for small logs, for hardwood more than two inches in diameter I'd look elsewhere.
First things first. I'm pretty sure there was something wrong with the unit I received, so bear that in mind. YMMV. When I received this I couldn't get the sprocket to turn by hand at all, even though it indicates in the instructions that this should be possible, consequently I couldn't easily turn the chain manually on the bar even when the chain was set to the correct tension as described in the manual. I reported this to Hyundai tech support and they said to go ahead using it anyway and come back to them if there was an issue actually chopping wood, so this is what I did. I really put this thing through its paces in the couple of days I had it. It was easy to assemble and the long lead was a real bonus. It coped with chopping smaller logs (less than about two inch diameter) fine but would really struggle when I started to get up to three or four inches, and when I say 'struggle' I mean smoking and a nasty smell of electrical burning! In the end I returned it, considering it either defective or not really really fit for purpose. I'm giving it three stars as it would have coped with smaller stuff OK and it was cheap.
