Can this sword be grown in a pot in the aquarium instead of substrate?

Yes but always is better if you plant ‘ em in the substrate

Will this grow under a 24/7 finnex aquarium tank light?

I really don't know, However, mine is growing under a Marineland aquarium plant light. Perhaps you can compare the specs. I use the Diana Walstad planted tank method. My lights sre on from 7 am to 12 noon and 5 pm to 9 pm. It is thriving under these conditions, also with a small amount of floating duckweed.

Mine are turning brown ..what do i do?

Do you guarantee no snail hitchhikers?

I had recently received 2 of these plants in perfect health and zero hitchhikers. I had rinsed them off prior to adding them to my tank just to get the potted stuff off the roots. Very happy with my purchase
