Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES) have been shown to potentially damage the cuticle of the hair strands and to strip moisture from the inner layers of hair proteins. These cleansing agents should be avoided if you have dreads, as they can trigger scalp sensitivity and leave locks dehydrated. Because it does not have chemical detergents, this shampoo produces very little lather. Use a small amount on wet hair, for dreadlocks it may be an idea to dilute some in warm water and apply to your scalp and dreads, rinse thoroughly and repeat if necessary. This shampoo contains Lavender oil that has anti-fungal and anti-microbial benefits which leave your scalp & hair feeling fresh, clean, and smelling great. The concentration of these is less than 1% as required by cosmetics legislation, so they will not add residue to your dreadlocks. Also, this shampoo contains 2% organic raw apple cider vinegar.
