Stable WiFi Boost, but Installation Can Be Tricky
Stable WiFi Boost, but Installation Can Be Tricky I picked up this WiFi card to breathe some new life into an older HP laptop, and for the most part, it did exactly what I hoped. Once installed, the laptop immediately saw a big improvement in wireless stability—no more constant drops, and the connection holds steady even when I’m moving around the house. The dual-band support is a nice touch, letting me choose between 2.4GHz and 5GHz depending on the network situation. Bluetooth pairing also worked without issues, which makes it easy to use wireless earbuds or a mouse. Where things weren’t as smooth was installation. Swapping out the old card for this one wasn’t plug-and-play—it took some patience. I had to carefully fit the antenna leads (those tiny connectors can be fiddly), and the drivers weren’t immediately recognized by Windows. A quick trip to the HP support page solved that, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re not used to tinkering with laptop internals. Another note: while the performance boost is noticeable, this isn’t going to turn an old laptop into a speed demon. It’s best viewed as a reliable upgrade that restores modern wireless functionality rather than a huge leap forward. Bottom line: A solid and cost-effective way to extend the useful life of an older HP laptop, but be prepared for a bit of effort during installation.

It works, but it did take a little work to make it work
Installed in an HP g6 Pavilion laptop, running the latest Manjaro version of arch Linux. I gave it 4stars out of 5 because I had to enlist the help of some gurus to help figure out how to get it to work. It came down to building a new driver, which ended up being reasonably easy if you know what to do. It gave my old laptop a new life with the ability to operate both 2.4 and 5g wifi and BT. I'm happy and it's nice to have a good grp that could help make it work.

Improved the wifi on my laptop but the bluetooth drivers are blocked on windows 10
It improved a toshiba c655 from 30mbps download to around 80, but bluetooth is impossible to intall, THIS IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS 10, they provide you with a driver that works nice , but only for wifi. I Considered returning it but the improvements on speed means at least is now a more capable zoom machine

Linux support is iffy, and may require installing a driver.
Some laptops, such as the HP Elitebook 8670w will not see the Bluetooth adapter, apparently because they do not implement the USB part of the Half-mini PCIe specification, and that's how the Bluetooth is presented to the laptop.

wasn't recognized automatically. gave up after an hour.
Installing in a linux mint system that didn't work with an USB network "card". Fiddling around for an hour trying to get this to work, looking for and finding drivers and such, but gave up after an hour and decided to spend a bit more for an Intel based card - this one is Broadcom based. That one was recognized immediately and without any problems.
