Zinc zinc and more zinc
I’ve built engines for just about everything under the sun. This is my foray into the gy6 realm. I got a free sym fiddle 2 and decided to go big bore since it’s cheap and about an hours worth of work. Anyway I see a lot of people talking about wiping cams. There also seems to be a lot of incorrect information about engines in general surrounding these. These are super simple engines and a great place to start in the realm of engines which leads to a lot of beginners. Anyway this was a common problem in the automotive field with flat tappet cams after they took the zinc out of oil to protect the catalytic converter. The zinc cushions the lifter against the cam. Well the gy6 uses a form of not only a flat tappet but a solid flat tappet. Zinc will help the cam from wiping out the rocker arms and the cam from the rockers. Any zddp additive will work or run high since oil. Personally I use diesel 15w40 and zddp additive. You can use synthetic if it’ll hep you sleep at night but I find with simpler engines like this with wide clearances and roller bearing that a “dirtier” oil will protect better. As for the cam itself quality seems good and seems to match up to the specs I found online about what an A9 cam should be. Although Id much rather use the actual specs of a cam instead of an arbitrary number (lift, duration, sla ect.) when you’re talking about an engine that originally makes 8hp, you won’t notice much difference between them.

Not for stock engines.
This is the second one of these I have purchased. There was nothing wrong with the first one until the oil pump went out. Lack of lubrication led to premature wearing of the cam lobes. It was still going strong at over 25,000 miles. I'd say that's pretty good for a $15 cam. I opted for the A8 cam and it makes a ton of power over the stock cam. I've got it in a ported and polished head with racing valves and valve springs. I don't think this cam would give you much power in a stock engine. Mostly because a stock head doesn't breathe well enough and OEM components aren't going to hold together very long at the revs this cam makes power at. It doesn't really hit it's stride until 7000-8000 rpm. It's still pulling hard at 10,000 rpm. At those revs you're going to need quality springs, retainers, valves, and a forged piston. You're also going to need a CDI that can keep up and a long list of other mods to really benefit from a cam this hot. I'll tell you right now though, with those mods in place this cam will make serious power. I got a GPS confirmed 71mph from a 155cc GY6.

A9 cam install running after
Worked well in my Kandi 150cc spyder go cart. Got a little more bottom end as well as top end speed. Changed to 1500 rpm spring in clutch and clutch brake, and used 10g slider weights in vairator. Picture is remove old cam.

She's back up and running!
Got this for my GY6 157qmj. Had to redo the cylinder because of oil consumption. When I took out the OEM cam it had very slight amount of wearing on it. So figured while I was in there go ahead and replace with a new one. Fit perfectly and feels better quality than the old one. Super easy to install too! Will be buying more products from this seller in the future.

Bust buggy upgrade for the money period!
Fit and finish was great! I put mine in a trailmaster blazer 150x buggy/gokart. Seriously reccomend getting the vlave adjustment tool. Makes the job so much easier. Upon first look the cam doesn't look much diff from stock. What changed is the duration of valve lift. Performance was very noticable. I live a 4500feet above sea level. I gained about 6mph downhill and over 10mph uphill. Flat ground about 4mph gain. What is super cool is the gain was allover. Low end, high end, mid range! Single best upgrade I have done. Needed to monkey with the idle a bit. But that's easy! Be sure to inspect all surfaces of cam before install. Dont install one that has irregularities on the cam lobes. Mine was perfect!

Great product, accurate information provided with it
GY6 150cc .. definitely makes a big difference.. A10 cam is for sure for low end torque kinda falls on its face mid to top but is good for small hill climbing and trails .

good purchase but you will probably need to rejet and tune. get an oil breather if you have an old model or you will be blowing seals all over the place

The product is excellent. The sprocket camshaft amt and bearings actually appear to be of higher quality than the original. Fit was excellent and the engine runs well. The only glitch was in a brief delay in delivery which dealt with very promptly. I would definitely recommend this product.
