Product Description Humanity nears extinction as Cell achieves his deadly perfect form! Eager to display his new power, the monster proposes a tournament. If Earth produces a worthy challenger, whether be it Goku or Mr. Satan, mankind will be spared. But if not – death comes to all! desertcart.com At the end of season five of Dragon Ball Z, artificial android Cell achieved his perfect form and challenged the Z Fighters to a martial arts tournament to determine the fate of the Earth. Now the tournament begins, but it proves to be a very uneven adventure. The contest begins slowly: The first 11 episodes are just set-up and filler, with little action. The battles between Cell and the Z Fighters offer plenty of excitement, as the brawlers blast each other through rocky cliffs and fling bursts of energy into space. Goku correctly predicts that Gohan will crush Cell. But the story falls into repetitions; Cell has to be killed three times before he'll stay dead. When Cell announces the tournament on TV, Mr. Satan, a WWF-type, appears as Earth's champion. Although he's a coward and a phony, the TV crew fawns over him--a lame gag that goes on far too long. The filmmakers also change the rules in mid-story. Cell had to absorb Androids Nos. 17 and 18 to achieve his perfect form. After a series of body blows from Gohan, he vomits up No. 18 (intact); later, he regenerates himself into an even more perfect form without the Androids. Goku is killed and decides to remain in the Next World with King Kai, rather than risk attracting more evil creatures to Earth. But when Trunks returns to the future, he destroys Cell before he can travel to the past and achieve his perfect form which means the Cell that killed Goku never existed. Season six could have easily fit on four discs--the last two discs contain just three episodes apiece, and the only extras are textless songs and some trailers.(Rated TV PG. suitable for ages 8 and older: violence, tobacco use, ethnic stereotypes) --Charles Solomon (166. Free the Future Review: Dragon Ball Z Season 6 – Cell Games Saga: Classic DBZ Action - Season 6 of Dragon Ball Z is a must-watch for fans. The animation and picture quality hold up well, and the English and Japanese audio tracks are both clear. The story is thrilling, with Goku mentoring Gohan, Gohan reaching Super Saiyan 2, and Cell providing intense, memorable battles. The action is classic DBZ: epic, dramatic, and full of energy. The six-disc set is sturdy and functional, perfect for repeated use. Value for money is excellent considering the hours of content and special features. One thing to note is that the case designs in this set may not match previous editions in your collection. It didn’t affect enjoyment for me, but it’s something collectors may want to be aware of. I also gave this as a gift to a DBZ fan, and it was received in perfect condition. Overall, this set delivers high-quality action, compelling storylines, and the excitement that makes Dragon Ball Z so iconic. Review: Season 6 is FINALLY HERE!!!! - Finally! The season we've all been waiting for. The Cell Games are about to begin and Gohan is about to kick Cell's high and mighty butt! Memories will be shared, boundaries will be breached,...and a much-loved hero will destroy King Kai's planet in order to save the Earth. :) I can't wait until September!!!! If you're new to DBZ, I highly suggest you pick it up! It was first aired back in 1989, and is still considered one of the most amazing and best anime series out there. Each season is literally better than the last, but, as a whole, DBZ is the most unforgettable anime to date. The story line is awesome, the characters are unforgettable, and the fighting sequences are to die for!!! I've been in love with the whole DBZ series since I was 10 years old. The first episodes I ever saw were of the fight between Goku and Captain Ginyu. I couldn't believe it when they said they were releasing the seasons in box sets and have been in anticipation for the following set ever since I bought Season 1 and Season 6 is NOT the exception. I can't wait to see Gohan go SS2 in Hi-Def, remastered and uncut! The seasons only get better from here! If anything, give it a try. I guarantee you'll never see another anime like it. Well with the exception of Dragon Ball (the prequel to DBZ...but it doesn't have to be seen to understand DBZ) and Dragon Ball GT (the sequel to DBZ. It's a good continuation of the characters' lives... but nowhere near as good as DBZ). Trust me: DBZ is a classic must-see anime! Mandatory to anyone who likes/loves/is remotely interested in anime!

Goku Is A Good Father
I've always wondered what DragonBall Saga is ranked the best, highest rated? I don't get full-credible answers, but from a lot of those sources I'll see the Cell Saga as the top saga. This Saga, has flaws storyline, I feel like the Saiyan, Namek, Frieza, and even Majin Buu Saga, had a storyline that flowed more evenly than the Androids/Cell Saga storyline. A lot of us think the storyline in DragonBall flows better than the D.B.Z. storyline, and a lot of us feel like the storyline in Dragon Ball Super, isn't as well written, thinking a lot of Super is based off of what fans want. Over the years, I have seen lots of questions as to what would happen, if there were certain other outcomes even simple different outcomes in the D.B.Z. storyline? We think of them from an in-universe perspective, and a lot of those outcomes would mean the end altogether. Realistically, even if there were different outcomes from the main storyline, we can bet Toriyama would still write the story with a resolved ending and where the characters still figured out a way to defeat the villain and make it to the next level. It realistically comes down to storyline, and for awhile Toriyama had plans of ending the series even after the Frieza and Cell Saga, but because of the fans he continued the story. A story that lives on. With the story really coming from writing let's think for a minute. For example, Launch a main character in DragonBall is not in the manga in DragonBall Z, only has small scenes in the anime, because Toriyama had forgotten about her. Animal people that were very common in DragonBall, aren't so common in D.B.Z. I read in some interview I hadn't seen in awhile, that Toriyama thinks he forgot to include them, as he was working on the after effects of Dr. Slump when he started with DragonBall. We notice flaws in the Androids/Cell Arc, including mentioning Dr. Gero when he wasn't a known character during the Red Ribbon Army Saga, most likely just an added character to continue the plot. Also, I heard that Toriyama brought out Cell because his former editor didn't care for Androids 19 and 20, and then Android 17 and 18. If his former editor hadn't made those comments, we could have seen a storyline without Cell. I also am pretty sure that Toriyama originally intended the Cell Saga to be Goku's last saga and have Gohan continue as the main character, but he changed it around. While watching this Season, I thought to myself that I bet Toriyama hadn't thought of two of the main characters we get to know in the next Saga, Goten and Videl while writing the Cell Games Saga. If he had, he possibly would have included Goten in the Future Trunks Saga, or at least hint that Chichi was pregnant. If he had thought of Videl, he probably would have at least mentioned her somehow, or given her a cameo. I've wondered what if Gohan could have met Videl when he was younger, like during the Cell Games Saga where she came to recognize him by? Cell's fight was broadcast on T.V. and Hercule was able to convince people it was tricks, though the fights between the Saiyans were also broadcast on T.V., and people seemed to forget that fight or recognize Earth's special forces. Enough about writing, even though I'm putting that into perspective as a lot of us might barely think of it this way. If you're like me and have watched D.B.Z. for years, you still love D.B.Z. even when you can point out the flaws. A main reason we love D.B.Z. is because of Goku. While we can also debate whether Goku is a good or bad father, I feel like he showed himself as a good father during this Saga, and about as good as a father gets. Goku having nice hangouts with his son Gohan before the Cell Games, and being encouraging, helping Gohan believe he could beat Cell. This makes him seem so nice!! The Cell fight is also awesome. This D.B.Z. action draws you into it, even if you know what happens? The climax to the fight, feels like one of the most exciting things you'll ever see on T.V. I can assure you, you'll love these episodes if you like D.B.Z. I also want to say, that you might not care for most of the episodes in Disc 1, where it isn't those actions episodes we know D.B.Z. from. But, it is nice to see how carefree Goku can be at other times. He is truly a one of a kind hero.

So Much Screaming. So Much Awesome.
Season 6 of Dragon Ball Z is peak intensity: Goku being Goku, Gohan leveling up emotionally and physically, and Cell looking like a very confident bug who shops at Villains-R-Us. There’s more yelling than a toddler birthday party, and somehow every fight takes 3 episodes—but you’ll love every second of it. Gohan finally goes Super Saiyan 2, and it’s like watching your quiet kid suddenly bench press a school bus. If you’ve made it this far into DBZ, you already know what you’re in for: epic battles, gravity-defying hair, and emotional damage (mostly to the villains). Absolute must-watch for Saiyan addicts.

Dragon Ball Z on bluray is probably the best i have ever seen it! The show looks fantastic with no grain whatsoever. Alot of Dragon Ball Z fans complain about the cropping to make it native 1920x1080 HD. However, the cropping differs to the DVD versions as they spent more time adjusting the cropping so it is much better. The Artwork is fantastic as each 3 sets join to make a full landscape artwork, perfect for DBZ lovers/ collectors!
