Great seeds
It's been almost 2 weeks and the mint hasn't sprouted yet. It takes a little while. But the cilantro and basil sprouted immediately and are doing excellent. I keep them on my bedroom windowsill because it's cool at night and in the mornings around other areas in my house but this spot is a great, consistent warm temp. I mixed the cilantro and basil together bc they are great for coplanting and help each other thrive. I recommend these seeds, plus you can buy them with EBT which is great for low-income folks!

DON’T BUY! NOTHING GREW BUT CILANTRO! NO HELP FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE EITHER!
Product seemed cheap and comes with barely any seeds. Nothing grew for me but cilantro and I’ve been landscaping since I was a kid and have grown several herbs and plants. I also have a plant light and misted them properly every other day with light mist. When contacting Amazon about this simply to get new seeds sent to me or a refund/replacement, Amazon could not return or help and when I asked to be directed to the seller they simply said “it is us”, “we are the seller” but then told me to contact the seller for Assitance once I demanded a phone call for assistance. Cause that makes sense. Maybe if they got people that spoke English and understood English and problems, they could’ve helped me but instead they were absolutely the opposite of helpful. Long story short, save your time and money and just go to Wal-Mart and get seeds and soil for $10 and have the ability to grow 50 times what this kit provides for less money. You’re welcome. By the way, this is in the description so I’m fitting to sue:MADE IN THE USA & 100% TO GROW: All Back to the Roots Indoor Gardening Kits are backed by our 100% to Grow promise – if your kit doesn't grow as described, we'll replace it or provide a refund. We’re a small team based in Oakland, CA that’s committed to helping you grow. I was provided with no refund nor replacement.

A Tiny Jungle on My Kitchen Counter
I didn’t know I needed a microgreen garden in my life until I met this charming little kit. “Back to the Roots” isn’t just a name—it’s a whole vibe. This DIY Microgreen Grow Kit turned my windowsill into a mini farm, and let me tell you: it’s giving cozy cottagecore meets crunchy wellness TikTok.The setup was so simple, it practically assembled itself. No green thumb required—just add water, sprinkle the seeds, and boom: within days, I had a lush patch of baby greens rising up like they had something to prove. Watching them grow was oddly emotional, like raising leafy little children who happen to taste amazing.Flavor-wise? These microgreens are punchy. I threw them on eggs, sandwiches, even pizza (don’t judge), and it instantly elevated my meals from “meh” to “Instagram-worthy.” Plus, they made me feel like a responsible adult who grows her own food, even if the rest of the fridge says otherwise. It’s also the perfect boredom cure. Got a kid? A partner? A curious cat? This kit becomes the main event in your household real quick. It’s science, nature, and snack time all in one biodegradable box.

Great product and customer service
The media could not be loaded. It came with directions and was very easy to set up. The basil started growing first, followed by the cilantro a few days later, but the mint has yet to grow. I sent an email to the seller. I'm sure they will address my problem. You can contact them at: [email protected] if you have any trouble. I will update when they respond.Update: Customer service responded right away and sent replacement mint seeds with no questions asked. Hassle free and I'm pleased to say the new seeds did grow! This is a fun project to do with my 3yr old son. He gets so excited watching them grow! And we will save money on herbs. It's a win-win!!

good idea for a lesson in basic plant biology but they don’t last
This is a cute idea if you want to teach kids basic indoor gardening, but don’t expect any long term results. Firstly, there is no water filtration. Secondly when they grow large enough (IF they grow large) there’s no pratical way to transplant them. Mine eventually died, the cilantro I suspect got root rot, the mint had no room to grow, and the basil same thing.(though I did get some fresh basil to cook with for a while.) Like I said, good idea for a lesson in basic plant biology but not for serious growing. Though I have to say I have purchased other products from this company that are great. You just can’t grow much in tin cans. At least they are recyclable!

So satisfying and fun! :)
I've been getting Back to the Roots grow products for a few years now, and to say I love them is an understatement! There's something special about learning to grow your own food products that is simply priceless! Harvesting foods and herbs that you grow yourself is so satisfying :)) The instructions are easy to follow, and the results are amazing! 10/10 recommend this and all the Back to the Roots products!

Tastey
Bought them for my granddaughters' cat as it seems to like lettuce. It was also chewing on houseplants, so this could divert it. Cat likes them sprinkled over its food but has not sought them out on window ledge.

Need To Upgrade Quality
I have bought this kit twice. The first time was a fail and I emailed customer service. I went through an inconvenient process of emailing for more seeds. After providing screenshots I received new seeds. The new pack of seeds didn't grow but I thought it was due to my lack of experience. Its been about a year and I have gotten better at gardening so I decided to try this kit again. I am still waiting for the seeds to sprout but as I was watering them I noticed all 3 cans were covered in tiny lil white mites. I am disappointed at this point because now I am worried for the safety of my other plants. I have been sharpening my gardening skills with a water garden system. I wont name the brand but Back to the Roots is such poor quality in comparison. I do like the mushroom kits tho. Ive tried pretty much all their products and the mushrooms are the best. I hope they get their quality up to par because the business concept has great potential. Ive gotten experience but my results have been terrible.12/28/2022 Update: 2 out of 3 cans have sprouted but they also have mushrooms growing right along with them. Ill do another update later and actually post pictures of results.
