The Vanquish 340 does not come with the control box weather cover, unlike the vanquish 440 and 540 which do. It can always be purchased separately.

Minelab vanquish 340 detect gold?

Most metal detectors run a frequency of somewhere between 10 and 15 kHz. The Vanquish line has Multi-IQ, which runs multi-frequencies simultaneously. The Vanquish frequencies are 5, 10, 15, 20, and 40 kHz. Gold is picked up at a higher frequency. With the 40 kHz frequency, the Vanquish has and has a good chance of hitting a gold target. Is it as good as those 'gold metal detectors' that run about 60-65 kHz?... no, but it has a better chance of hitting gold than all of those single lower frequency metal detectors at the lower frequencies.
