Frienda Universal Bathroom Vent Fan Motor Replacement Electric Motors Kit Compatible with Nutone Broan 50CFM 120V(3000 RPM 120V)

We have an older house and the bathroom fans motor finally seized up. We really and truly didn't want to replace the entire housing - it is the middle of a very hot and humid summer in NC and that attic would not be fun! Nor did we really want to deal with having to adjust the opening in the ceiling. Thus, the search for a replacement motor for a no-name fan commenced! Trusty Amazon was our best option as local hardware stores have become less reliable for a variety of parts. After some searching, we found this fan and motor assembly - it didn't exactly match the specs on ours but was the same where it mattered. Having never made this repair before, we carefully measured everything on our existing (and NASTY) motor and compared it to the specs for this universal replacement. All looked good, so we hit the button Friday to buy it. The replacement part arrived Sunday much to our delight and 10 minutes later we had a working bathroom fan! Installation was simple, although the unit does not have any instructions. In our case, it turned out to be a near exact match of what we had. We gently pounded the fan blade section onto the post (using carpet behind it to prevent damage to the unit), making sure the deeper "cup" in the center faced out. Once that was installed, we turned the unit over, removed the nuts on the bolts, took the old bracket off the old unit, and installed said old bracket on the new motor and fan. It aligned perfectly! From there, it was simple to install the unit in the housing, checking to be sure the blades clear the housing and lined up correctly. Plugged it in, hit the power and voila! The fan spun so pretty and fast, it hasn't worked so well in all the time we have lived here! The noise level is not what you would call quiet, but compared to the old unit it is. We attached a video to give you an idea of the sound level. Time will tell if this holds up as long as the old one, but we have high expectations. Really happy with our purchase!

This fan fit and works well in my very old Nu-Tone can style bathroom fan fixture. I purchased this model specifically because it is a lower cfm than my original fan. Much quieter, and I don’t mind the little extra time it takes to change the air in my small bathroom.

Works perfectly. The motor fit very well into the housing. Installation was easy. Noise level is about what you would expect. I am an experienced handyman, pretty good at DIY. Thus I am qualified to say that the BIG FLAW is how Frienda gives no guidance on how to attach the fragile blades. It is VERY difficult to insert the blades onto the shaft. It is very tight. I had to look at various videos on different sites to get guidance. When done I wasn’t even sure it was right. The blades are fragile and I bet they easily break if you are not careful/lucky enough.

We have an older home with a bathroom fan that has two plugs in the ceiling where the fan goes. One plug is for the fan, the other for the light. The fan package had everything I needed for the install and it easily fit into the space where the old fan was, with a few simple alterations. Not the most quiet fan, but it for $20, it's awesome.

Product arrived quickly. It looks like it was used before... there was dust on the motor. The fan blade looks like it was cleaned, but not too detailed. The fan blade is impossible to install on the motor (like it did not belong to the unit). I had to use the blade from the old setting. The motor works pretty quiet.

Plug and play. Works great easy install only required 1 hand tool. Fan is a bit flimsy and hard to get on the spindle and broke when I was installing but otherwise the fan works well.
