I haven't actually used this yet but I have used the tools provided with it to dismantle a phone. I'm going to check out the old joycons later today

I recently began have drifting issues and was looking for a mixed kit that contained not only the tools required to open the device, but an assortment of replacement stick components. I ordered the kit one evening, and was surprised to find it at my doorstep the next day which I was very happy about as it meant I could get back to gaming quickly. In addition it came with a friendly note thanking me for the purchase, a nice touch.The kit is more expensive then some of the other kits available on Amazon, however it also contains more tools, screws, etc than those competitors. In addition, while other kits supply 2 JC stick components, this kit contains 4; which is a very nice bonus.The kit supplies 4 different drivers (2 quads and 2 tri's) which can be used to open not just the JC's, but also the main Switch unit itself, making it a multiple use set. There are also a multitude of other pieces such as tweezers and pry-clips which some other kits do not supply, and I must emphasise that they greatly improve the repairing experience.Quality wise they are ok, the Tri drivers require a larger amount of force to use, however the quads were near perfectly sized. The other tools were also sufficient.Most people will be looking into this kit for the JC stick components. My experience with them has been adequate. I will admit that compared to the normal Switch components they are slightly lower quality, and have stiffer movement; however overall they still perform quite well, better then some of the more expensive OEM parts even. After replacing both sticks on one set of JC's, I proceeded to play Doom 2 (a fast paced twitch-shooter) and found the experience to be pleasant, and without any issues compared to normal parts.Overall I had a positive experience with this kit and would recommend. For this I give it 4 stars, with the only minor hitch being the quality of the Tri drivers and the JC sticks.

I needed to replace four joycon joysticks, and in terms of what you get, this was by far the best deal I could find. It gives you all the tools you would need, some spare fixtures and a few extras. The brush for lightly dusting the joycon internals was a nice addition in particular, as were the tweezers for handling the ribbons, though I prefer using a spudger. Either way, it's awesome that this is essentially a complete kit to replace your joycons - no extra tools etc. need to be bought to get the job done, it's all included in the package.In terms of tools, there's not too much I can say, as I used my own pro tool kit for carrying out the work, though I did deliberately test the two tri-wing drivers provided. Neither engaged very well, which suggests that you could risk stripping one of the original screws if you're not careful. It's good two different tri-wing drivers were included in the kit, as one was much better than the other in this respect. My own tools had no issues with engagement and potentially rounding off heads though, but they also cost a lot.It's been a couple of months since I fitted these, and I'm pleased that the Joycons are working flawlessly, something that normally worries me when buying cheaper electronic spares. No stick drift and the rubber caps on top of joysticks seem more durable and have better adhesion than the originals, which my children have managed to slide off on all of our Joycons, and even on our Switch Lite's within a week of owning. Of course, that might just be my household.For the price and all the provisions you get, I rate this kit 5*. I considered 4* due to the tool issue with the tri-wing drivers as mentioned, but given that included are spare screws and two (different) sets of screwdrivers, I feel enough damage limitation is in place to earn that 5th star. My recommendation to buyers would be to take care and step back if you're struggling to get a screw moving. My recommendation to the seller however would be to see if this issue is frequent enough to consider alternative tools if that's the case.

So package came nice and well packaged no damage.Something thay really made a great impression:1. Appropriate 3 prong screwdriver was provided. I am a guy in a tech job and have almost any tool for electronics assembly and disassembly. Except the 3 prong screwdriver! It was provided which meant I can actually do the repair.2. Spare screws! I destroyed nearly all screw caps when taking out so the fact that there were spare screws inside literally was a life saver!3. The actual sticks personally feel better to me! They are quieter on the press down and don't make as much make as stock ones.Overall I was about to throw the old joy con's and bought this as a "what do I have to loose" sort of attitude. That and also I have 6 years old girl that loves disassembling. So worst case was hours of fun disassembling and assembling with her before I chug them in the bin.For that price the value :4 screw drivers, spare screws, 4 sticks etc...We have a fully working two joucons I have been using 4 hours a day past 4 days without a single drift or issue.Seriously its amazing value for money. And YouTube has literally tons of videos on how to do it.For reference the drift on my original sticks was so bad they were unusable. I have bought 2 Pro controllers so we can use the switch that way.See picture if you don't believe me. And a third one for my little girl!As you can see I am not joking I had to buy those as joy con's were absolutely shot. Literally was about to throw them before randomly finding this and actually fixing them.
