MICROJIG Matchfit Dovetail Router Bit 14 Degree x 1/2-inch 1/4-inch Shank, Woodworking Tools, MB-025-0514

This is pretty straightforward. The router bit works as advertised. It's sharp as can be, the packaging is exquisite, and the price is right. If it blows up or otherwise becomes a problem, I'll update this review. I decided to go with matchfit in my shop over t-track for cost. I didn't want to have to buy, cut, and instal t-track every time I wanted hold-down capacity on jigs. Matchfit replaces all that t-track cost with the cost of a router bit. With all the matchfit hardware they've developed, I will be using this guy on a lot of projects. First up is a drill press table!

I was building my own woodworking table and needed to rout many dovetail grooves for the Matchfit dovetail clamps. This router bit does exactly what it says and works perfectly. I would strongly recommend following Matchfit's instructions but first cutting a 1/4" slot to reduce the workload on this dovetail bit. I used a DeWalt trim router for my application (1/4" shank). This took a slow a steady approach to cutting the slots. This is a specialty router bit and the price seems a bit excessive. Similar router bits are available but they don't have the unique features (1/16" rounded relief edge) that this bit does.

Works as advertised and good quality. Well worth the investment

This router bit worked fantastic for making a joiner jig for my tablesaw. It holds the micro G clamps perfectly. Strong and solid bit and never bogged down.

I love the bit for what it does. I hate it for the fact that it burns out "quickly". This bit is built to create grooves for match fit in workbenches. It's painful to keep switching between the 1/4" relief bit and then the dovetail bit to make one groove, I wish Matchfit would just engineer a better bit (more cutters? spiral? better carbide?) to do the job in one go. As it is, this bit lasts about half a typical workbench before it blackens and loses its edge.

The one router bit that changes everything about how you clamp your work. With the MICROJIG Matchfit Dovetail bit I can modifiy every wood wood working jig I own to accept the MICROJIG clamps and other accessories. While the term is way overused, this system truly is a game changer. While you can find other bits with the same angle for a fraction of the price, this bit is design specifically for the MICROJIG clamps and features a rounded shoulder to make for a much smoother edge on th dovetail grooves. This also virtually eliminates tear out in all types of material. If you want to save some money, just buy the bit and a couple of clamps rather than the full set. It is not all that difficult to cut proper grooves without the MICROJIG Guide. Otherwise, buy the kit and route away.

Makes very smooth dovetail cuts. I have two other dovetail router bits and they are a joke compared to this bit. Spend the extra money, it is worth it.

I have just changed over to the matchfit clamping system for my woodworking project. So many different ways to clamp your woodwork, it means no more metal T Track.

This is great for making channels in any wood so far, including maple, ash, pine and Wenge. if using with a harder wood, just take your time and back off occasionally, I haven't had any burns yet going at a half decent rate.
