This is the book every camara should come with. It's easy to read, clear, concise and extremely helpful. My book came before the camara and it was fun to start learning about the P950 with it. I love it. Buy it without a doubt.

I got a used but in good condition, that was obviously NOT the case. The books itself is great and very useful, thankfully the important pages were in useable condition after I taped it together and ironed it out a bit. But honestly, at least half my $25 should be refunded to me.

After recently purchasing a Nikon Coolpix P950 ultrazoom camera, I realized that lack of a complete printed manual would prohibit my learning all the features of this camera. I find reading an online version is clumsy and difficult and I had no interest in downloading and printing several hundred pages. Remember when cameras came with chunky little instruction manuals that covered everything you needed to know? Anyway, I decided to purchase Alexander White's book on this camera and am extremely glad I did. I'm about half-way through it, and it covers features I didn't know this camera had. It reveals how to access all the features and functions, is written in an easy-to-comprehend manner and is well-organized. In addition to teaching all aspects of the P950, it also includes lots of basic photography information that I'd either forgotten or never learned over the decades that I've been taking photographs. If you've purchased the Nikon Coolpix P950, I strongly recommend that you purchase this book; it will help you get the most out of your camera and will add considerably to your enjoyment of it.

We purchased a new NIKON P950 Coolpix camera, but there was minimal documentation. That seems normal these days, they force you to go to the internet for a digital user manual. I agree you can find anything these days on YouTube or elsewhere, but for me this book is fantastic. What's great is it is easy to understand, written for a beginner and starts with how to get started taking quality photos quickly. I'm early into the book, but within a few chapters, I'm comfortable I can take good photos or videos, use the flash and tips on wide angle or tele-photo lens use. I have much more to learn, but feel this book is well worth the investment. Will I go through the whole book and learn every feature? I doubt it, but it's always there as a resource. I didn't buy the camera for professional use, it's for normal basic photography, but this camera ( called a point & shoot ) is way more sophisticated that what one would think is point & shoot. It has an amazing zoom lens and many excellent features for a fixed lens camera.

I joined a Facebook site for P900 users "Learning the Nikon P900" and this book was recommended (there is a book by the same author for that model Nikon as well) and this book/author has written "how-tos" for both the Nikon P900 and Nikon P950. I haven't gotten all the way through it, but it offers insights on using the camera that the technical guide does not cover. For what you pay for the camera and extras, this is a no-brainer to help get the most out of the camera. It is a paperback, but is large and has color diagrams for examples. Indexed well.

Mr. White has written THE definitive, easy-to-understand, functional, most complete guide to using the Nikon P950 I have found. This guide goes over, above, and beyond the user’s manual in so many ways. The only thing I would improve is the quality of the examples, but the explanations are so clear that this is a minor detail that could be easily solved with an online/downloadable version. I thought I loved my P950, but this guide helps me love it even more. Kudos to the author, well done!!

These are very helpful to understand the modes and controls of the Nikon P950 in simple language. I bought this same guide for the Nikon P900 years ago and really helped but the P950 is a lot different so for less than $10 is well worth it for me.

I previously bought a book about the Nikon P950 and it was a big disappointment with its lack of information. This book, however, is so useful, easy to understand, clear diagrams and helpful photos. I’m very pleased that I bought it as I’m learning a bit more each day.

The author states in his introduction that the online manual available for the P950 is more detailed, but I beg to differ. Having used the same author’s similar excellent guide to my previous camera- a Nikon Coolpix B700- this was my first purchase after buying my new P950. It is an excellent resource to get the most out of the camera. Each feature of the camera is explained simply and without jargon, and it’s usage, advantages and limitations described with examples. And in some cases even how to push those limitations. The example images aren’t great in the Kindle version, however, but are made up for in the descriptions. But having it on my Kindle means I have an excellent go-to reference manual at my fingertips. A truly wonderful resource to go with a fantastic camera. I would thoroughly recommend this for new, or even experienced, users of the model.
