Ultimate Puppy Training for Kids: A Step-by-Step Guide for Exercises and Tricks

I bought this for my 8-year-old granddaughter. Some people don't seem to think small dogs need to be trained, but they can be horrible (I believe chihuahuas and dachshunds are the most aggressive dog breeds) and I didn't want that little girl to be bitten, nor did I want her to be responsible for her dog hurting anyone else.This book explains things very well, was easy for her to read, understand, and she has been working successfully with her chihuahua mix (ugh to the breed but she looks like a smiling meercat!). She is also learning how to be consistent in her training so the success can continue.I highly recommend this book to anyone new to dog training, not just kids.

I bought this to gift to a family who is got a puppy for the first time ever! I went through some of the pages before I gave it to them and it’s so perfect! I’m a dog owner and it had some things I didn’t know that I now pay attention too! It is written in a way that kids can really understand but it has been a plus to the adults as well! She tells me all the time how much they have used it! Great for the young new puppy owners :)

This book is awesome. Bought to use with my 5 year-old to help train our new puppy. I ended up ditching all the other training books I had and using this for myself. So easy to follow and understand with simple explanations of why to use certain methods to get the behavior you want. Great book for kids and adults.

i requested a preview copy from the publisher because i have kids and they want a puppy.being a curmudgeon myself, i was resistant to a dog. they're messy, they can be destructive, they are a lot of work. and who's going to train it? who's going to feed it? who's going to take it out to potty? certainly, NOT ME!this book is written for kids to learn the appropriate responsibilities with a puppy. our experience with puppy training books is that many, perhaps most, are geared toward adult owners, or at least to say a scientific (aka - over the head of kids) approach.this one is a kids book, plain and simple. wonderfully illustrated and photographed. appropriate language for kids to understand.a good amount of time is spent in UNDERSTANDING your puppy. learn to read their body language, learn what their physical and emotional needs are.all in all, a great book!

Good book for kids!

Bought this book for my niece's & nephew on the arrival of their new puppy. They are really enjoying teaching her the basics like sit, paw & stay.

My daughter was hoping this would be full of training tips but in reality there wasn’t much she could do with our puppy out of it

I was expecting this book to be in slightly larger print & to be written in a fun way considering it was for kids. Disappointed
