Nail tech here. Regular or gel nail polish is used for nails. Acrylic nails are made from acrylic powder. This product is for crafts.

Q: If the gloss paint is not available, what product do you recommend to paint over these AB matte paints to give a gloss effect (w/out yellowing)?

The Mod Podge Spray sealer 1470 would work for this application.

Q: does it work on pumpkins?

Yes You can use Apple Paints on pumpkins. Please no t you will have to spray with a sealer if Pumpkins will be placed out in the elements.
