Such a nice set, both the case and the tiles are beautiful.

This mahjong set is very nice, it is my first set I have ever purchased and am quite pleased with it. The tiles were wrapped in 4 "blocks" so they wouldn't shuffle around in shipping. The shipping was good as well. The seller shipped it box in box and the inner box that housed the mahjong set was "encased" with a foam like board material so it did not move at all during shipping. The outer box had some shipping paper to hold the inner box in place. The outer box is a nice thing to do and I appreciate this seller doing that to ensure the safety of my product. The tiles are very nice, uniform, vibrant colored. The characters on the tile are indented into the tile itself so the character will never "rub off", this set does not include any numbers or letters (N, E, S, W) but we all got the hang of it after just playing it once. If you really need the numbers and letters don't let that stop you from buying this set. I was going to buy some little dot stickers to use if I needed to remember but I won't anymore. I don't know what size this would be considered but they stand up on their own just fine and seem to be about the right size for playing on a normal sized coffee table. The dimensions are listed on the item description but I figured I would tell you this anyway. While the tile set is very nice and I am quite happy with them, I will say that the case is a little on the flimsy side, for only spending ~$25 I am not too bothered by this. I think it is pretty much hard cardboard wrapped in thin vinyl. With normal use I expect it to be needing replaced after a few years, sooner if you have rough hands. All in all I am very pleased to have this as my first set and I plan to include pictures. Set does not have the four trays typically found for storing tiles in case and for each player to use during the game for holding your game chips. we bought this set for our son and daughter-in-law so we wouldn't have to cart our set over every time we visit and get a hankering to play a game. Heavy, well made, engraved markings so the face won't wear off in a lifetime of play. clearly painted without smudges or flaws but i would be wary of the permanence of the paint. Looks just like our set we got from Singapore but when I dunked our set in a dishpan of mild liquid dish soap and water to handwash sticky fingerprints off, the paint washed out of the engravings of one or two when I rubbed them dry. To wash greasy or sticky off I would recommend blotting gently to dry or leave them in the dish drainer to air dry. Tiles size are considered the "medium" size as sets go. Shipped in 2 days as promised. (I have Prime) Excellent shipping package! Tightly packed in moulded foam box within a sturdy cardboard box meant the heavy item was secure for shipping and less likely to rattle around causing chipping of dice or tiles. Set has vinyl over cardboard composition case with sturdy snaps but the set is heavy so I could see where the vinyl would wear out and break along the seams over time. That's ok because we have a woodworker friend who makes beautiful cedar cases for all of his playing friends' sets. He carves a large wind or dragon of choice into the top,lines the trays and inside of the case with felt; each has a closing accessory compartment for storing dice, wind indicator and blank spare tiles. He is going to build a custom case for this set too as it is going to be a christmas gift to our son. I really think this set makes a nice gift with or without friends building custom cases but what would anyone do for trays if they didn't have talented woodcrafting friends? Trays are a part of the game accessories like the wind indicator. I suppose you could glue together some from craft board but since the tiles fit tightly and snugly in the case as-is, it could be an even tighter squeeze to keep the snaps snapped and the case closed A bit odd.

The quality of the Mahjong tiles is very good. The dice are okay, and the case is shoddy. It's a heavy carry. It's definitely worth its price

Love the tiles and the case. This a great set to take on the go. The tiles are small and feel nice, still have a good weight to them. The case itself is decent. Its nicer than the cheap felt bag that came with my larger set. My only concern is the case handle, I have had bad experiences with these type of plastic handles breaking, but there are no signs of that yet. Only time will tell if it will hold up.

I don't know how to play traditional Mahjong, I bought this set specifically for Mahjong Solitaire. It's a wonderful, meditative way to unplug from screens. There’s something incredibly satisfying about the 'clack' of the tiles and the focus required to clear a physical pyramid layout.
