It works! With a few tips to help with fit it was perfect!
Effectiveness: I have a small dog (Maltese) who has been barking at people and other dogs non-stop since he was a puppy. This product curbed his barking behavior in 2 days! At the beginning we left it on him non-stop - the first time he barked through the beeps it was kind of pitiful; when he felt the shock he yelped and ran under the table. However, THE VERY NEXT TIME, he hesitated after two barks!Fit and Comfort: The plastic part looks very large on a small dog but did not seem to bother him too much. We had some trouble with the strap coming loose until we cut and singed the end of the strap so that it could not pull through. We also put a sweater on him to help keep the unit in place. Finally, since we have a dog with long fur we used the larger shock prongs, which seemed to work better. There was no noticeable chafing or irritation on him even after several days of continuous use.Long term benefit: Our dog is noticeably less inclined to go crazy when people visit or when he sees other dogs. He has a tendency to bark once or twice (which is perfect) and then quit. When he starts to forget his training we put the collar back on him for an hour or two and he shapes back up.Overall: This was an effective and very inexpensive tool. 5 stars!!

A very welcomed change for the better.
What a difference this collar has made! We've tried a number of different collars in a variety of price ranges but this one seems to works better than any of the others we have had. It has a few features that I REALLY liked over some of the others and here are some of the differences.*It give a nice loud audible tone that we even we can hear. Other collars we have used gave off a very quiet one that was difficult for us to hear and we never really knew if it was going off accidentally or not. Accidental activation, I believe, was turning our dog into a nervous wreck as they would go off if he turned over when sleeping. This one does not seem to do that, it only seems to activate if he starts barking. The sound goes off after one bark. I think it gives the dog about 3 barks before it will send out a small static charge to get his attention.*The quick release collar is very convenient. Many of the others had buckles and taking them on and off was a pain. Not to mention the motion of the removal would sometimes set off the collar giving him a shock. The quick release makes it fast and easy to put on and remove.*It's small in size and great for our 12 lb dog. Others were bulky and almost seemed to hinder the dogs movement. This one, however, seems to fit him just right and he runs around as usual without any difficulty.*The shock is not too intense. I made sure I tested it on my arm before putting it on him. Last thing I want to do is hurt the little guy, just wanted him to shut up. You can adjust the intensity of the first shock before it gradually goes up. Even on the highest setting I noticed it didn't really hurt my arm at all but I can see that it would most definitely get his attention.*Construction appears to be solid. I think this is going to last for some time.*Battery operated. There is no turning it on and off and the batteries you need for replacement are cheap, however, it does come with one included so you don't have to run out to the store before being able to try the collar. I'm not sure how long the batteries actually last but time will tell but like I said, they are cheap.*The dog knows what the collar is. He could be barking insistently but as soon as the collar goes on, it's immediate silence. How great is that?!Now, this is not something I would leave on him all the time. We do have another dog and they play pretty hard. The motion of the play will activate the collar so you really need to only put it on him when needed. Believe me, he knows what the collar is. This is really no different from some of the higher priced models we tried; they did the same thing. Just remember, this isn't a put on and forget. Good judgement on when to use or remove the collar is essential.

Great Price, Humane, Effective
This is a great collar. My poor yappie dog, who earned the nickname Barko, had finally pushed everyone, including new neighbors, to the limit with his verbose communication. This device had him under control within an hour and with relatively little pain and suffering. I was reluctant to resort to shock colar but nothing else was working. I liked the methodology this device uses and it really works. The dog formerly know as Barko quickly learned the warning tones no longer communicates loudly and excessively. Amazing price for a great unit. He is an indoor dog so I can't describe durability outdoors though from construction I doubt it would survive long.

Helped us a lot !
Worked well with most of our dogs, it's such a relief !The only con I've found is that the instructions on paper are well written and all, but there is some important information missing, such as:1- The sensibility levels: Not how to set them up, because this is really obvious, but an explanation on how to start and choose them according to your dog.2- The clear plastic thingy: It's obvious that you should tighten the electrodes with it, but how to use it to test or adjust the product remains a mystery to me. The text here on the site (as it shows the day I'm writing this review, of course) presents a translation problem.I gave it 5 stars anyway because it already worked well on all but one of our dogs, so the product itself is very good in my opinion. It just needs better explanations on some features to adapt well to more dogs.Although I hope they eventually update the instructions on the site and those that come with the collar.

Don't waste your money
Had I written this review within 2 weeks of receiving these, it would have been 5 stars. I ordered 2 and they worked so well I ordered more so that all of my dogs had one, total of 5. Unfortunately all but one of them started having problems with not working almost immediately after I got the second order. I bought new batteries thinking that was the problem. I should have returned them but the first 2 worked so well I kept hoping they would work. After new batteries they worked intermittently but never like the first two I bought. Then those 2 quit working. I have shaved necks, turned up sensitivity, chugged batteries. You get what u pay for. These are cheap because they won't work for long. Don't waste your money. Of the 5 only 1 worked as it should after 2 months.
