They do not - the badge is optional. They can punch IN/OUT with their finger scan.

Hi. Will the data work? Yes and no. You will get the entry punch but you won't get a total on hours. If all you are concerned with is the start time, it will show it but all other data will be missing. That is, you won't get their hours in a summary report (separate tab in the spreadsheet) because the machine can't calculate without an end punch and you won't get their total hours worked on each employee's time slip. The clock works well for our needs as long as no one forgets to clock out. So, as I said, if you don't care about their actual hours worked, it should be fine for you.
