Best gift for Ice lovers
For a person who love to eat ice, this is a perfect gift. I’ve been using it for the past few days and works just as advertised. I think I’ll buy a second one soon!!

No ice ice ice baby
I don’t know why I’m giving this product even one star it is a complete waste of money. It is a lie you need a freezer. You think you’d have this magical product that you’re wondering well, how does it work cause it sounds like I’m just putting water in a Fridge. Well that’s exactly what you’re doing, but there’s no magic happening. It’s just water and I wouldn’t buy it if I were you I’d run the other direction. It’s disappointing that it was nothing but a waste of time, but it does not work in the fridge.

Great idea but poor excution
Great idea. Container that makes ice cubes, can be used as storage for the ice afterwards. On the one hand, it validates the space it takes in the fridge (slightly wider than expected, like a really fat tumbler) but the execution isn't perfect - when you fill it up with water, the inner cup rises up and the lid doesn't help to keep it down - it should have had a "lip" to "grasp" the outer container and keep the inner cup down. I placed a heavy ice pack on top to help it out, but this invalidates the whole product's usefulness.

Best Value--Does Exactly What You Want It To
We hate standard ice trays. They usually cheap, break easy, and take up a lot of space in the fridge. We wanted something vertical, durable, and cheap. This ice maker cup was cheap enough that I figured I would try it out. Overall, I like it a lot. It's basically just a synthetic, rubbery sleeve with a plastic cup that fits inside. Each "batch" of ice is enough for one person's drink, but the cup is designed to hold ice pieces from each batch, so you can keep making more. The cup has a lid, so you can stack things on top of it. The materials are fairly durable. We have not been gentle with it, but it hasn't cracked or frayed. The design creates shallow ice pieces, so they freeze quickly. I haven't timed it, but I know it's much quicker than other ice trays. The vertical design means it takes up less space. It's about the size of a fat tumbler, like you see at gas stations. Ours is usually sitting on top of a quart of ice cream. It doesn't have to sit perfectly flat.It is easy to use. Remove the cup and pour a small amount of water into the sleeve. Replace the cup and tilt the device while you plunge the cup to the bottom of the sleeve; excess water will drain out of the top. Once the cup is fully inserted, secure the lid on top of the sleeve, and there you go.The only drawback is that once it freezes, the cup can be difficult to remove. Also, the bottom of the sleeve tends to bulge slightly and collect water (hasn't been a huge issue). I usually whack the bottom of the sleeve on a counter, or run water around the outside briefly, to loosen the cup.Once the cup is out, it's super satisfying to squeeze the sleeve and hear the ice chips crackly and fall out. Dump the ice into the cup and repeat the process, being careful not to run water into the cup with the new ice. This product is perfect if you have a small freezer and you don't need a lot of ice. Maybe you just need a cup's worth for your morning iced coffee, or ice for your smoothie. It definitely will not produce enough ice for a party. Either way, I think this device is cheap enough that you can experiment with it. We have had ours for a little while now and have had no issues.

It actually works!
Totally cool and it totally works. We made ice and delighted at the ease in doing it, but we were impressed that it actually worked!

It's not particularly good for anything
I'm really unimpressed with this device. Filling it with water is a massive challenge and very messy. Once filled with water the lid does very little to keep it from freezing over and overflowing the container. You just have to trial and error different water levels to keep that from happening. The diameter makes it too big for most bottles and breaking the ice to have the half sphere chunks yields only shards ice chunks and not the clean and pretty pieces the pictures show. I've been using it as a food storage container, but it's not good for that really, because the lid isn't tight. This is just a novelty that has failed at doing that.

Messy
This is hard to fill without spilling over into the interior cup. Also the lid wouldn’t stay on unless there was ice (weight) already in the cup to hold it down. Do not recommend.

Great alternative to common ice trays
Much faster than regular trays. I hate regular trays.
