If value is your most important concern, this is the damper motor to buy...
Item worked perfectly... If your dampers have stopped closing correctly or won't open you have a choice... this option is just to to replace the damper motor and your saving are about half the price of the full damper assembly... I changed just this motor with half of my dampers and it was successful - perfect operation. However, what I found was that some of the existing damper assemblies were "sticky" even after cleaning with water and lint free cloths... Looking back, I wish I had just bought all new damper assemblies...to avoid the possibility that I'll have sticking dampers again in the next few years... Excellent product and 5 minute replacement time..

Perfect replacement
Replaced my old one perfectly. It was easy to swap out and hasnt had any problems since. First time and it was a breeze, just by reading the reviews of how to do it.

A Good, Affordable Replacement Damper Actuator (24 volt ac)
This unit worked well for my application. I replaced the original Honeywell actuator with this item for my a/c damper control. Not a direct replacement for my original device, but, with a little engineering, it works well in the damper.

Much better than Honeywell
I don’t often write reviews and a product needs to be well above or below my expectations for me to take time out of my day to write a review. I’ve been frustrated with my old Honeywell actuators, as they seem to have poor build quality and a high failure rate. This actuator feels like a huge improvement right out of the box. I am optimistic that it will outlast the Honeywell actuators they I have on my other zones. Build quality is great, install is 5-10 minutes max. NOTE: I didn’t like the set screw as much on this new actuator, so I swapped it with the set screw from the Honeywell actuator. Just unscrew one and screw in the other of you agree. Otherwise, this product appears to exceed the specs of the Honeywell in every way.

Works as advertised.
I needed a replacement for my Honeywell M847D actuator motor that had broken gear teeth. This part was cheaper than the Honeywell product, and performed the same function with the same dimensions as the motor it was replacing. The newer Honeywell I think does a bit more providing open close position information. I had to do a little bit of research to ensure that I was installing it as Normally Open and Power Close motor which only determines whether it's installed with the actuator vent in an opened position or a closed one. For mine, it's installed in an Open position. After that little bit of research, it was simple to install but a little challenging tightening the set screw due to the motor being installed in an awkward place on an overhead vent where I couldn't actually see what I was doing and had to feel what I was doing. Tightening a set screw is easy to do when you're doing it while in a comfortable position. I was not in a comfortable position which is no direct fault of the motor but the set screw design change could have made it easier. The wiring change was easy after noting the wiring attachment on the old motor. The wire colorings were the same. I eventually got it installed (set screw tightened) and it has worked perfectly for the last two weeks.

Solid replacement for a dead Honeywell
I used this to replace a bad Honeywell M847D1004. The Valemo is well made and was a direct fit replacement with no modification required. Seems better quality than the Honeywell.

Dongle Position Different But Still Works
Used an Allen wrench to remove the old one. The only difference is the dongle was on the right side with the original part, this one has it pointing up on my setup. I did not use the dongle that came with this product because it was too short and could not easily visualize the position of damper without reaching behind the actuator. I recycled the old longer one and just cleared the insulation so it does not hinder open/close function. The wire colors matched even though it should not matter with AC setup as noted in the instructions. Great quality product!

A furnace tech was going to charge around $1000 to install one of these. I bought this and installed it in less than 30 min, nice and easy wiring replacement, and was nearly a tenth of the cost. So glad I bought this, has been working well for 2 years and still going strong

Easy to install and works great. Great replacement for the Honeywell motor

Purchased to replace a more expensive Honeywell damper actuator that failed because of plastic gears. This unit has metal gears and work great. Has been in use for some time with no issues.

These are working as a great replacement for my original Honeywell damper motors that were getting quite weak - often unable to move the dampers and sticking them either open or closed. I did find that the replacements were slightly mismatcehd in size -- the center-to-center distance between the axle and the side pin is 1.3" whereas the old motors were 1.325" and the dampers themselves are 1.375" (possibly a Honeywell manufacturing defect since there appears to be misalignment). That 0.075" difference meant that sliding in the VDM10 was quite difficult and moreover once installed this meant it applied too much side load and hugely increased the friction on the dampers, so it didn't even work! :-( Anyway, a quick workaround was to remove the plastic bushing from the damper where the side pin goes. That leaves a big loose hole, and then the VDM10 works quite well. Unfortunately this leaves a lot of backlash making it a bit trickier to set up.
