Q: How big a can do you use for one couch?

I used four, 14oz cans for one coat good coat on an 8 X 8 foot sectional . That was for top, front, back and sides of of the sectional plus the same for 7 bottom cushions and 7 pillow backs. I paid special attention to all the seams. I was not stingy nor overly generous with the application. It dried fast and did not leave too much odor.

Q: does this work on velvet?

That's a great question! Unfortunately, we do not recommend using any of our Scotchgard(TM) products on velvet.

Q: Can this be used on velvet?

Hello, thank you for your question! We do not recommend using any of our Scotchgard(TM) products on velvet. Velvet can be made of many different materials such as silk, cotton, nylon, polyester, and acetate, and there is no way of knowing which of these materials are in velvet. The Scotchgard could dry on the surface, cause dye bleed, or change/ruin the nap of the fabric, and leave white spots behind.

Hello. We would recommend checking the cleaning codes on the item and preforming a colorfastness and texture change test first in a discrete area.
