Great for birthday party, but be prepared!
Great for my 7-year-old. I used it for her birthday party. You’ll have to match the pics/directions for each dog to the materials. I highly recommend doing this and threading the needles before passing it out to a group of kids. (I bought extra needles). You’ll also want glue on hand. The stickers were plenty sticky, but some of them were impossible to remove from its paper backing and so they needed to be glued onto the dog. Overall, highly recommend! The kids loved it and they all came out so cute! Great value and quality!

Perfect set for a 7-year-old with a little sewing experience
This is such a perfect set! My son has been sewing these adorable dinos almost independently (I help him plan where to start his stitching so he can add stuffing easily, and I tie the knots, but otherwise he can complete each project!). The set is perfect because the pre-punched holes line up exactly, the set includes everything needed including stuffing and a little scissors, and the finished dinos and accessories (eggs, volcano, palm tree) are so cute and make a fun play set when completed! My son loves working on these!

Cute, colorful, kids love them
Pros:- Colorful and fun to make.- All needed pieces are in place and well organized: bodies, cutouts, thread, needles, scissors, stuffing.- Instructions are provided.- Have not seen any misprints or defects.- Kids loved working on them and were pleased with how cute they turned out..Cons:- The adhesive on the fabric cutouts sometimes sticks to the paper backing and peels off with it (whereas it should stay attached to the fabric to make it stick to the body) and there are no convenient tabs/edges to start peeling from - I would say this is a point for improvement. We had a couple pieces of cutouts ruined before we realized we had to be extra careful peeling them off. My kid needed help with all the rest of the pieces since she did not want to get upset ruining them.- I do not appreciate the amount of plastic packaging that is used - every creature has a separate bag with the relevant pieces, and also the needles and the threads are packaged separately. Though I can see how it is supposed to make it easier to separate the projects and figure out what goes with what, I feel that this is such a waste.- Also, I would suggest the scissors should not be included (aslo a waste and a cost increase) - I bet every household has scissors (even if not kid-friendly.. The parent could help. And I suppose a child who could handle a "sewing" project like this would be able to safely use regular scissors. Besides, there really is not much to cut - only the thread).Despite the cons, we still really like the product! I do hope the packaging will be revised anf the issue with the peeling would be addressed.

Great Value, Easy Kit
There are 12 complete kits. 5-6 needles but otherwise each kit is packaged seperately. Very cute results, animals as pictured in product photo. Suggestions: Enough floss to go around twice, rather than going up and down resulting in this sewing pattern - - - -., if you go around twice your stitches look like this———————. Also, the basic outline of the animal is sewed and stuffed and other layers are stick on. Important-do not cut out the eyes etc from the big piece of felt. That has the stick on layers. It is hard to correctly get the backing to separate from the sticky layer. Remove the backing from the entire large piece all at once. THEN cut out the eyes, etc to stick on. The pieces stick together well if you separate the layers correctly. When child did this alone the backing stuck to the sticky part and child separated the felt w no sticky on it. Gluing it with fabric glue did not work very well. Great for craft at a party or scout activity. Age 8 can do w verbal guidance 5-8 with parent help.

You will need additional supplies.
We have only worked on two birds so far. We had the same trouble as others mentioned about not being able to pull backing off without removing the adhesive. I need to buy fabric glue to finish the birds. I will also mention that instructions are not very helpful in placing some of the small pieces. The felt is a good weight and quality so it is worth the effort. I knew the possible drawbacks when I purchased this and am still glad I did

Excellent quality!
9 & 10 yr olds were able to follow instructions independently, and the final products were beautiful! This gift was a big hit. It could be fun for bird watchers or crafters of any age.

Great for little littles
My seven year old is on a sewing spree and we've gone through four different sewing kits at this point. This is a little too easy for her but it's just right for my five year old (as long as he's not comparing himself to his sister...). The Klutz little foods kit was too complicated/hard for both. The "Four Seasons" kit was just right but the quality was a little low -- some of the holes weren't punched all the way through, which made it harder even for the seven year old.The felt on this kit is VERY stiff, which makes it a little easier to manipulate for less coordinated hands. All of the holes were punched completely and are very large and uniform. This is a good step up from the cardboard lacing kits that kids typically start in preschool/kindergarten.The stick-on accessories were a little tricky and require adult intervention. The adhesive is very sticky and so has the tendency to stick to the protective paper as well as the felt, so you sort of have to peel it very very carefully (sharp fingernails help) to keep it with the felt not the paper. Also, some of the accessory pieces are really tiny, and I think even a 10 year old might struggle a little to get them peeled and stuck properly. I saw the review that ultimately hot glue was needed to keep it all in place and ours are already popping up a bit so I can see that's likely to be an issue. In any case -- great quantity of supplies, good quality on the main felt pieces if you're looking for a very easy kit.
