Oh, What A Relief!
The constant low backup battery warning beeping from my Lift Master Model 8550W-7 with Wi-Fi has stopped! This battery is the perfect replacement for the original battery that lasted seven years. And, if you are concerned, it is very easy to replace. You do need a small ladder to reach the garage door opener and a Phillips head screw driver (I also used a pair of pliers). While standing on your ladder, unplug the unit, open the light cover (mine was on the right side of the unit as you face the garage door), unscrew the screw holding the battery compartment cover (if you drop the screw -- no worries -- it falls into the open light cover), remove the red and black wire connectors from the battery terminals (I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to wiggle the connectors to get them off), slide the old battery out of the compartment, slip in the new battery, reconnect the wires to the red and black terminals (make sure you get the correct color wire on the same colored terminal), replace the cover with the screw, close the light cover, plug the unit back in and you are done. Took me 10 minutes at most. Best of all, the beeping did not return. On the other side of the unit, if you open the other light cover, you will see a green light -- mine was flashing which I think means that the new battery is charging. Anyway, glad I purchased the battery and did not have to pay a garage door technician to install it.

Quick Online Delivery, Easy to Install, Great Value For The Money, and It Will Last 9 Years. Enjoy!
I do not know when my previous backup LiftMaster Garage Door Opener Model 8550 was installed; however, it was made on March 4, 2013 while my current one was made on March 4, 2022. My home was build in 2004 and I purchased it in October 2017. Doing the math, the first and second batteries lasted 9 years so I expect this one to last until at least August 1, 2031. For several days my LiftMaster garage door opener was beeping about every 30 seconds even when I unplugged it. I tried changing the battery in my remote opener attached just outside of my garage door and for a few minutes it stopped beeping then started to beep again. Finally my wife did a Google search that gave instructions on how to locate and remove the dead backup battery. I then removed the battery and tried to contact the LiftMaster company without success. In the end, I looked up the model number on amazon.com and there it was at under $50. I ordered it 4 days ago and it arrived today. It took me longer to open the box that it did to install it. I simply moved my latter under the LIftMaster, unplugged the power, used a Phillips head screw driver to remove the one screw that held the battery door in place, plugged the red wire into the red battery terminal and the black one into the black terminal, inserted the battery into its housing, attached the battery door, screwed the Phillips head screw to secure the door, and plugged the power back in. Folks if you can screw in a light bulb, you can replace this battery in your garage door. Don’t let some company charge your several hundred dollars for something you can safely do yourself in less than 5 minutes. I am happy with the ease of installation, the quick delivery time, and the peace of mind that I do not have to worry about the ability to open my garage door if the electricity shuts off. I am even more happy that the cost of this battery divided by the number of years it lasts is $5.39 per year. Enjoy!

Perfect for Liftmaster battery replacement
Our local battery shop carries these batteries; however, Liftmaster has introduced a design feature that requires you to buy their product, namely that the terminal leads are different sizes. I tried the large sized leads of our local battery store product, but they didn't work. So, I had to purchase this item, which is twice the price of a standard battery but does have the two different sized leads. The product is good, and we've only had it installed for a month, so I don't have a sense of how long the battery will last, especially during our cold winters in an unheated garage.
