Decent product but customer service response time could be better
I would have given this 4 stars but one of the two beanies I ordered didn't work right out of the box which looked to have been opened already. Maybe it was one that was returned and resold? I got an email from the company shortly after purchasing asking for positive feedback and I wrote back directly to them saying the one doesn't work and what could be done. That was 2 days ago and I haven't gotten a response yet.On a positive note shipping time was quick as always so that's a plus and the one that does work is great to have around for the winter months! I agree with other reviewers that the switch would be better served as a button that's easier to get to while wearing the hat versus a teeny switch on the side of the battery pack that's tough to feel. I haven't changed the battery yet but it appears you'd need a tiny screwdriver to be able to do that. Have only used the one once so far so I can't speak to the longevity of the product and hopefully I can get the broken one replaced.

Useful, but need instruction sheet and some work on design
Bright/useful, but as others have said, they need to include an instruction sheet:1. Switch: The on/off switch is nowhere near intuitive. Could have been easily engineered to be on the outside instead of sewn in between the layers of the headband. It is not easy to turn light on/off with thick gloves, which is more likely what would be worn when this beanie is needed. E.g., a rubber dome push button would be more logical.2. No instructions on how to wash. It's not a sealed unit, so cannot be thrown in a washer. Would be better if they had separated the lighting/power module as an detachable band via Velcro or Zipper.3. No instruction on how to replace batteries, if that's possible at all.

Serviceable light source
Taking on a overnight mountain hike next month; thought it would be a bit brighter for that cold night in the White Mountains...but it seems to be very warm so there's that. Will still need to bring my headlamp as this will not not be sufficient but should be handy for simple tasks at waist/table height. At least now I know what 50 lumens equals in useful illumination so I have that going for me

Great hat facilitated by poor energy choice.
The light is extremely bright. I use it EVERY NIGHT while out on the back porch. It usestwo 2032 watch batteries. If used as often I do, you'd have to BUY batteries EVERY week. So I took the 2032 battery compartment out and soldered in a dual triple AAA battery case (eBay $3.59) Now I can charge and replace the batteries multiple times per week without any additional costs. It would have been nice to purchase this with a rechargeable battery option rather than a consumerism point of purchase.

Poor Wiring
Upon opening I was surprised at how soft the hat was- I was happy with this as my current beanie will make my head itch. I put it on and it went low down all around my head. I tried flipping the bottom part of the hat up and the light stopped working- I learned the wire connecting the light came out. The light is completely covered by material so I can't attempt reattaching it.

Great hat.
Great hat ... little tight thou ... not a fan of one size fits all becasue i am a big guy 6 foot 4 300 pounds mechanic. One size never fits all. But the light is awsome keeps u warm just a snug fit for a big guy.......Had to write an update ... wires to light broke shortly after wrieting the above... nice hat but cheaply made ....going to return and try another brand
