5.5dBi 1090/978 N-Type Female Antenna - 26-inch

Picking up planes from 45 nm away, with the antenna indoors in a closet. Swr 1.25 at 978 and 1.54 at 1090 is what my nanovna said, but I'm an absolute novice so take those numbers with a grain of sodium chloride. I'm pleased with it. It is connected to a splitter and two separate SDR radios for receiving both bands at once. I didn't know you could do that, but apparently it works fine. I went with the Nooelec Dual-Band NESDR Nano 3 kit and a mini pc instead of a pi. Search for adsb.im feeder image if you want to feed any/all sites of your choice and not spend your whole afternoon messing with a pi.

As everyone else is saying - amazing range with this antenna.Mounted in attic, I'm getting hits up to 240nm away on 1090. 978UAT gets around 80-100nm max, but to be fair you're unlikely to be flying that at a high enough altitude to be picked up from this far.The mount isn't the best if you're mounting to a 2x4. Had to find and use other bolts instead of the U-bolts to get it mounted. Otherwise 2-4 screws/bolts will hold it in place easily and give you way more range than a standard plastic antenna that comes in most kits.

This antenna has far exceeded my expectations. I’m running this off an old little raspberry pi and I’m on a second floor balcony apartment completely surrounded by building all around and I’m still receiving ADS-B signals from about a 200 mile radius. I live in Dallas and this antenna is pulling signals from as far as Austin and College station. The mounting bracket is super handy and was up within minutes. Incredible range and reception on this thing and seems to be well built and tough enough to handle extreme heat and cold and everything in between

This antenna has a great performance to price ratio. I can easily get up to 200nm of range in almost every direction while also getting low elevation TIS-B messages. Combined with the 1090/978 Stratux splitter this single antenna is capable of feeding two separate SDRs for both ADS-B and UAT signals. The attached graphs say it all.

I bought this antenna for my new ADS-B project. I was using using a discone antenna mounted at 35' with about 75' of coax (LMR400). While this worked, I was only getting a max of 70 - 80NM... Once I swapped the ADS-B setup and added this antenna, I am getting around 160NM and that is with the antenna at 25' elevation. This was definitely worth the money and I am beyond happy with my purchase. If ADS-B is your thing and you want added range, look no further.

Guess when I connected the antenna...Great ADSB antenna. I only have it hooked up to a single SDR on 1090, so I cannot speak to 978, but check out that graph, doubled received aircraft from same position on my house.

This antenna rocks! It almost doubled my reception. I use them for 1090/978 mhz reception. I have purchased 5 of them so far and if I add another adsb site, I will purchase more. I have them mounted inside and outside. It hasnt see winter yet but, I will post an update if need be.
