Brown & Haley Original Mountain Bars (24 - 1.6 Ounce Bars)

I had been wanting this candy bar for a long time. It was so good when I was a child. So, I searched on internet and found them. Order them and expected the same wonderful taste I remembered. I took a bite, and they were not as good as I remembered. Reading the other reviews, it is not me, but the candy bar has changed. The center was creamer and thechocolate was so rich, with the nuts. It was so delicious. This one, no not even close. It tasted chalking and hardly any of the vanilla center.I don't think I will order this again.

I lived in Tacoma and bought mounyain bars from the factory. I really liked them. Now they are extremely downsized from what I remember. Also, they now mix the nuts into the chocolate. The bar is not coated with nuts now.I can't find then in stores locally, so I ordered some on Amazon.Bill BreiteSouth San Francisco

Remember the candy bars of old, how they tasted, how BIG they were. Well as time moves on and we get older it seems the Candy gets MORE expensive, smaller (Maybe it was just old small hands that made the candy big back then) and some of our favorites just go away. That is the case with these Mountain Bars, I loved them as a kid, then only once in a great while could I find them, that was except on here. If you had one you know how good they are if not, if they are cool (not cold like in a refridgerator, or hot like in the summertime) but like in the fall, October when the leaves are falling, you take a bite out of this (It does not look all that good, it looks like something the neigbor's pet left on the lawn for you) but its choclate, crunchy outside almost like a crunch bar, gives way to a soft white cream filled center. Which tastes oh so good. I am pretty sure if you like cream and crunch bars you would like this.

Not as great as I remembered as a kid,but still very good.They were packed is insulted material as it was very hot when I ordered,and nothing had melted when I got home and found them sitting on the stoop.Amazing care given to their product insured they were fresh and unmelted.

Mountain bars are just as delicious as they were when I was a kid. They really shrunk in size though.For taste I would give 5 stars but every single bar came melted into a blob. So for this review they should be renamed Blob bars.They could have done a better job packing them.

This Mountain Bar was OK; however, it is not the original recipe used "50yrs." ago. I would buy this product again.

My wife loved these bars in the past, however what we received failed to meet the quality standards we expected from brown and Haley.the flavor, lack of nuts and consistency of the bars were off. It appeared we were getting seconds of the product.... We have been eating these bars for years so we know what they should be and trust me these were not the product we had come to know and trust.
