Not an easy read
This is an involved and wordy translation of Steiner's work. It takes ten pages to say what it could be said in two. Pity as there is a lot of gems in there if you persevere, but one really has to persevere.

It is worth reading given time
Most of this I had been lectured on elsewhere and I have a lot of time for Rudolph Steiner. However I think that by modern standards his work is a bit heavy, perhaps.

The explained path
Good heavy going knowledge, slightly dated, but reassuringly informative. Spiritualism is not a path to be taken with soft and un-cushioned shoes, especially if journeying to the higher levels.

Amazing find
These mostly out of print books are an amazing find for a cheap price. I used my points for the purchase, but Amazon confiscated my points and charged my card instead. They're pretty sneaky.Stein's work is considered seminal in this field. I am enjoying reading the books on kindle reader.

Human-being is different from an ape
I have been suggested by a friend of mine to read this book. The author's name had been long since known to me as the founder of Rudolf Steiner School, unique educational institutions in the north America. I think I feel like understanding his idea that the human existence consists of four layers, i.e., mineral or material, vegetable, animal including soul, and spiritual layers. An ape has a soul to understand the meanings of the afflicted physical pains and he takes an action to try to avoid such pains, but no spirit with which to ponder the significance of his life. A human being has a spirit with which to contemplate the meanings of his life and so forth. The author encourages us to develop our spiritual power so that we can be more human, distanced from an ape. But how? I recommend sufferers of insomniac tendencies to keep this book bedside.
