works well
I don't know when I started using these. I use the output from a AV RECEIVER which is transmitted from a laptop.

Doesn’t Work Properly, Total Disappointment
I bought the GINTOOYUN VGA to RCA Adapter hoping to connect my PC to an older TV, but it was a complete letdown. The signal was unstable, the image quality was poor, and in some cases, it didn’t display anything at all. I tried multiple cables and devices, but the results were consistently bad. The product claims plug-and-play functionality, but it clearly struggles with compatibility. No audio output, no reliable video signal, and no real support to troubleshoot. It might work for very specific setups, but for most users, it’s just not worth the hassle. Save your money and look for a more reliable converter. This one feels like a gamble—and I lost.

Good Device for connecting a PC to CRT
This is a great, cost effective device for connecting a PC via vga to a CRT tv. I'm using it to connect a Dell Optiplex PC running Batocera to my Sony CRT. The included cables are very cheap to best to use better quality ones. I saw a lot of reviews saying the unit displays a black and white, flickering image. I had this issue and found that it is due to the unit coming out of the box set to PAL output. If you're trying to use it on an NTSC TV, you have to navigate the menu semi blind to switch over from PAL to NTSC. Using the manual to figure out the button pushes needed to navigate the menu I got it to the correct and it displayed. Offers many more options to tweak the image output versus the previous HDMI to rca adapter that I was using and the picture is much better.

Just get one of the nice ones don't test your luck
I mean i know composite video isn't the best thing around but it's not usually that bad there's so much color distribution on mine you can't even read anything unless it's almost the size of the screen and yes I checked another composite source on the screen and it was perfect just not the adapter I'll definitely be getting a nicer one than this it might just be mine but I would recommend not risking it and just get the nicer ones i actually used a monitor from my apple 2C to get the signal right because it has that just to dial it in

Very useful product
This item converts the VGA Video signal from your desktop computer to a RCA Composite Video signal for devices that require such a signal. Works fine.

Composite: 5 star. S Video: 0 star.
I'll get right to the important part. The image quality on composite output is excellent. Zero artifacts. I was extremely happy with it. However, the only reason I had to use it in the first place is because the S Video quality is awful to the point of being unusable. Dark, dingy picture that wouldn't show me white even with the brightness turned all the way up. So when I buy something advertising S Video output and it doesn't work, that's a major problem. The form factor of the thing is also terrible. You have to plug wires into three sides of it, which wouldn't be a problem if there was a remote to access the on screen menu. There isn't, so you have to physically access the box to work the menu, and there's no way to tuck it neatly into your setup with cables sticking out of it everywhere. Bottom line, there's better options. Ones where all the features actually work. But since the composite output is quite good, I can't give it one star, because it does do that very well. But don't advertise features that don't work.

Works perfectly and is a great value for the job. I'm using the device to connect an old Dell OptiPlex running Linux Debian up to a CRT TV to use for games and other media. The picture quality is what you should probably expect from a CRT TV lol. The device itself gets a little warm during use. I attached a video to this review to show that it works, just keep in mind it looks a lot better IRL compared to the video because the recording introduces some artifacts. Some reviews mention missing colour or a rapidly rolling screen. This also happened for me out of the box (after plugging in the USB power, VGA, and RCA cables). Unfortunately, the OSD is also affected by this, but I was able to navigate the menu using the manual as a guide and my phone camera to take stills. You have to change the "PAL BDGHI" option (as it's called in the manual) to another option that matches your TV. There will be several options that work and don't work, so make sure you cycle through them all before giving up. I'm in Canada, so "NTSC M" and "NTSC J" work perfectly for me.
