So Easy Even I Could Use It
I was digging through boxes in my garage and found one filled with old VHS and 8mm cassettes. I wanted to transfer these tapes to digital and I ordered the ClearClick kit to accomplish this. I set up the software that you download online. It was pretty straightforward. I plugged the cord into my computer and video playback device and got to work. I was able to save hours of precious family memories onto my computer's hard drive. The only issue I had with the software is that it would stop the transfer before the videotape was finished. This was relatively rare and I was able to work around it. I would recommend this device to those wanting to digitize their videotapes.

Hardware good, software bites
Good, solid hardware, but the software is horrible. When trying to use their software there was a high freq whine on the audio track. When I tried using OBS the whine was gone and everything worked great. So save yourself some time and headache and use OBS for recording the output from your device.

Buyer Beware - Don't Wait To Use It After Purchase
Bought in March 2021 and first used it in September 2021 to digitize our wedding video for an anniversary gift I was creating. The VHS video was from 1991 so I assumed the poor quality was either the old tape or the old VCR even though it played on a TV just fine. First thing that struck me was that the original video (filmed in color) only transferred in B&W. With time short I did my best to create an anniversary video to present to my wife and left it at that, with some disappointment in the quality of the product. Last weekend I decided to dedicate a few days to digitize all the VHS tapes of family memories that I hadn't done (10 tapes) or had done. Same issue (B&W instead of color) and blurry image. So I borrowed a VCR from a neighbor and bought a head cleaner. Cleaned the heads on both VCRs, no better. Tried three different PC's (one laptop and two desktops running Win 10 + Win 11). Tried several different video capture softwares. Still, no better. Finally ordered an RCA-to-HDMI converter and used a Magewell capture device I bought for doing live video with HDMI-to-USB. That switchover along with using a better video capture software took care of all issues I encountered with this product and its inferior software; got good color, clear images, and good sound. I can only surmise that this product was a waste of money and a waste of nearly a whole day of futzing around. Too late for return so that's that. Moral of the story, don't wait to find out it the device doesn't work for you and lose out on getting a refund. The only good that came from this was that the software company immediately sent me a license code when I explained I had upgraded my PC (true) and needed to reinstall the software. But what's the use in that if the device is lousy? Maybe I was one of the unlucky ones, but take my advice and don't wait for the disappointment.

Easy to use
Worked great. Came with free software that was intuitive. I copied old family tapes to hard drive (20 years worth) Best part is the option that it's stops when the tape goes "blank" for a specific amount of time. So those 120 minute tapes with 45 minutes of actual footage... set it up and go do something. It will stop on its own.

Sort of works....
While your mileage may vary... I have a more than adequate experience and PC for video.. i9, 96GB ddr4, rtx2080 Super.... This device would ONLY do video for me. So as an RCA video capture adapter it works ok, with moderate color washout. I had to buy a separate RCA to USB adapter for sound. After hours of trying to get it to work as a stand alone device and following all troubleshooting options..... I gave up... Once I connected this device as only video and the separate RCA to USB adapter for sound, it worked perfectly! It NEVER worked for sound on its own! I'm using vers 4.0 of the software FYI. I do recommend pushing play on VCR when acquiring signals on the signal page... It will not find the signal for video without the RCA playing the video! Once I have green on both signals, I press next... rewind the tape to where I wish to start recording, and then begin capture... It should not be this hard to capture... This is not a high end complicated process.

The audio didn’t work
It’s easy to use, but you can’t see what’s going on until the video is done playing back. Then, you have to play back what recorded, or didn’t in most cases. The video was on and off color and b/w, but mostly, the audio didn’t record at all.

This works so much better than a full size VHS-DVD burner!
The item is exactly as advertised and arrived on time. Hooked it up and needed almost no instruction. Almost idiot-proof and if this idiot can use it, anyone can! Works great with either Windows Media Player or Quicktime Player. Definitely enjoying this!

It’s an upsell sceme
The idea is sound… I’m not that tech savvy but realized fast… garbageSpent a lot of time .. only to be able to transfer to digital for 5 lousy bluddy minutes at a time… more recording time would have meant more $… hire a pro don’t waste time

This does not work with a new MacBook Air that’s has an M2 processor
I flowed the instructions and it asked me to download some software for the Mac from the website.I selected the download link and it took me to a site expecting me to buy some software. To me this is misleading.I definitely do NOT recommend this product for a new Mac M2
