This book really reinforces the middle C position notes on the staff. Lots of practice to write notes. I have used this book with students who already know these notes, but can always use a little review and reinforcement. I did not realize how much they needed it until I got this book. Stems were going every which way! Now my kids are getting more precise in writing the notes and have not only learned the correct way to write notes (note head first, then stem), but have it ingrained into habit. I have given it to my students as theory homework to be completed during the week and suggest they do one to two pages daily. My students who do the work are completing one unit every 2 weeks. There are 5 units in the book. If I had given this to students who were just learning these notes, I'd probably stretch it out a bit more than that.

This book provides such a good study of the notes on the staff. The practice begins with BCD, drawing the notes on a staff. Then a puzzle to "test" the knowledge then moves on to other notes. I like this book and the reaffirming it provides for my students.

I used these books for a transfer student who had not learned her note names at the keyboard or on the staff. Teaching a student online who couldn't recognize or name the note she was playing or trying to read was difficult to say the least. These books have helped her tremendously.Like Andrea & Trevor Dow's other books they are very well thought out and easy for the student to understand and use. Yeah!

This is a great resource for students who need some extra practice in Note reading by printing the notes out and enjoy timing themselves for a challenge. It can be an easy, quick daily part of their practice protocol.

These are PERFECT for kids to practice printing notes in the middle C and C position! My students and my own kids love the activities, and as a teacher, they are just right for my piano students.

I have young students who seem to use only their right hands. This book has made a difference in their reading. Being aware of note differences is what reading is all about.
