Everything you need to know
This book gets to the point about what you do and don't need to know to successfully care for your curly hair. I've read the other, more well known Curly Guide, but it didn't help me with what to do so I figured I'd read this one. I read this book in an afternoon and, following her advice, had one of my best wash days. Prior to this, any successful wash day was by accident! If you're getting lost in whether you're a 2c or a 3a (doesn't matter), wondering if you're over-proteinized (you're not), or are just confused by the advice you're finding on YouTube and Instagram, then read this book!

At last I understand!
This is a very helpful book about wearing natural curly hair. I have fine hair which makes S curls and some are more coily. Unlike some of the other curly hair advice, this explained hair differently. The advice was broken down into texture, porosity, density and elasticity. The washing/styling routine was very helpful. It offered various modifications depending on the above hair classes. The most important information for frizz free styling is to check the weather report for the dew point. This will let you know whether to add more conditioner or more gel. I am learning all this in the summer. I am interested to see how I'll change my routine during the dry winter. There's a common technique called plunking or plopping. From other websites I could never follow the directions right. This book explained a better way by using a traingular folded cloth/t-shirt. I finally got it right! Many cosmetic ingredients were explained in this book. I kind of wish I had it in hard copy because there's a lot in that chapter.

Great Book for Those Following the Curly Girl Method
I follow the Curly Girl Method and cowash my hair and this is the best book I've read on the subject. Ms.Taylor covers just about every subject there is concerning taking care of your naturally curly hair. She also gets into the science of curly hair and products to keep out of our beautiful curls. At the end of the book you will also read about curly girl myths and home remedies to help our curls. Buy it, you won't be sorry.

Invaluable tool for curly hair care arsenal!
This book is very helpful in that it gives different insights (using science) regarding the care and keeping of curly hair than other curly girl books I've read. It makes so much more sense to use hair products that have the ingredients for your hair type rather than curl pattern/type. The ingredient list is invaluable in determining products best for you. Great buy for only $3.99. Saving me money, too, as I have a bag of products (containing ingredients that are damaging to my hair or not compatible with my hair type and the high dew point where I live in South Louisiana) that are going back to Sally's this weekend.

Curly hair praise!
I am not sure what I expected but much of this book was a bit too much of a beauty/salon school set of classes for ME. If you want the bio and the chemical knowledge that hair and products have then this would be a fantastic place to start. It’s easy to read but I found myself skipping over much of the scientific details. I also confess I wanted more pictures. I think I may have come across the wrong book for what I was looking for...

Great Book
I was looking for some help with my hair, as I have grown tired of blow drying with a round brush, or using a flat iron twice a week. I did the big chop, and hopefully with this advice I'll never have to use one again, and I can enjoy my curly hair

Great Education on Curly Hair
The author makes it clear that the reader should not expect to absorb all the information provided in this book in a single reading. I completely agree. This book should be reread again and probably again. It should definitely be kept close as a valuable reference text. There is no fluff. Taylor's writing is clean and direct. Answers can be found quickly and understood readily. This will be at the top of my goto's for living with my curly hair

Great information. If your thinking of starting your curly journey then buy this book👌👌👌
I am so happy that I purchased this book. I started my curly journey 3 months ago and even though I've had 20+yrs of heat styling my curls have started to bounce back. I bought a well known curly book and I found it such a let down. I saw another curly lady on Instagram talking about this book and thought let's take a peep. Well I'm very happy I did. This book covers all the basics that curly haired people need and extra information to boot. Love the added recipes and homemade spray, mask and oils. Throughly enjoyed this book 👌

Curly Education!
This a great read that explains the science behind curly hair and how to care for it. This book is really informative and I recommended anyone with curly hair to give it a read. A lot of traditional shampoos are too harsh for curly hair, as it is naturally drier than straight hair. This leads to dry frizzy hair! This book had a detailed section on product ingredients that will help you to make informed choices about your hair products. Overall an excellent resource for the 'Curly Girl' method!

Excellent Curl Education
The author is not selling any products but pure knowledge she gathered as a professional hairdresser and curly herself. I really like her down to earth approach: you don't need that many products (like many beauty companies tell you), but you really need to understand the structure of your hair (while omnipresent curl pattern is way more irrelevant than you think) to care for it properly. Thank you for this book.
