Highly recommended, especially for the late bloomers out there.
Duff has an abundance of life experiences that are unique to him, but translate well to the common person. The title is somewhat of a misnomer, as it's not exactly a "self-help" book. While each chapter title is a great piece of advice, the content that follows is hit-or-miss as it relates to the actual chapter title. Nonetheless, it's an entertaining read and look into the life of a man who has been through hell and found his heaven through friends, family, and his passions in life. This book is for those past 30 who haven't found their path yet, and the message is simple: there's always hope.

Duff is relatable
I really enjoyed this book on tape! I found Duff to be relatable. I wish the tital of this book was different. He has lists of book and music suggestions I would rather have been put in the back of the book due to it being distracting while listening you don’t know when all that will end. This book has some good suggestions and interesting stories. Might I suggest to Duff a product called Poo-Pourri.

A great book by a talented man.
I completed this book in a 24 hour period. I found it a good piece of light reading, suitable for fans of Duff, G N'R and 90's metal in general. In this book Duff gives his readers what seem to be honest and amusing accounts of life with his family, friends and musical colleagues from the more recent years of his life. This was a very enjoyable book by a man who is definitely not afraid to laugh at himself.

A Year in the Life of a Traveller
I'll start by saying that this would have been more appropriately titled How to be a Good Traveler as this book seems to be a year in the life of Duff as he travels the world as a rock star and all around cool guy. This isn't a complaint at all. The conversational tone of the writing makes this a very compelling read. This is especially true if the reader is invested in Mr. McKagan from his previous book or his rather large catalog of music. The pace is fast and this man definitely comes across as someone you would love to have a beer with if only he was able to enjoy such a beverage.I've seen a few complaints regarding the lists he included in this book. But I would disagree sharply. One of my favorite ways to discover new books, movies, or music is to learn what has inspired the artists that have inspired me in the past. In this light, the two lists are the most valuable passages in the book. I've already been out looking to add some of Duff's recommendations to my library. I'm hoping a few of them click and broaden my horizons that much more. And as far as the entries that I'm already familiar with, who doesn't enjoy having a rock legend validate their taste in music. I just wish I had a way to debate a few of his choices that I disagree with in the list. Most of the real autobiographical ground was covered in his previous book. But if the future holds a series of updates on this very interesting man's life in the form of books like this, count me in all the way. I'm looking forward to that almost as much as the potential reunion of the Appetite era Guns 'n Roses that this book shows isn't as entirely impossible as once thought. Write on and rock on Duff McKagan!

Being a man.
Don't know where he got this title ,but I don't thinks it's the right one. A good book, but Duff just did what most men do daily take care of his family. One hell of a musician.

Loved it! I found it very entertaining and informative. Some great stories in there and I am glad to get to know him a little better. I enjoyed it start to finish. Some haters out there need to read the title and grow a f***ing set.

Just a great easy read
I loved this book and as a follow up to "it's so easy", it's perfect.First of all I love Duff's writing style. It immediately sucks you in and makes for very easy reading.Secondly I locked into the approach of blending the story of the challenges of a year on the road, with top tips for the modern person/ traveler. As a weekly traveler myself it's given me so much food for thought. I'll never pack shaving gel ever again...conditioner all the way now! This book was also perfectly timed in my life in many other ways.I wish I could thank Duff in person, as both books have inspired and literally helped me turn my life around. But as that chance may never come I'll just keep recommending them to all my friends.Ignore the haters, this book is great.

Hmm, was a second book really necessary?
You can't help loving Duff. His first book was epic and if you haven't read already I'd thoroughly recommend checking out 'It's so Easy'.Maybe it's my tendency to gravitate towards all things sex, drugs and rock n' roll but I was a little let down by the follow up. You have to give credit to Duff for getting to where he is today but I can't help but feel that the the best stories are all in the first book and I can't quite figure out why he felt the need to bring out a second. The man is a living legend and there's no taking away from that but unfortunately 'How to be a man' missed the mark for me a little. Could just be me though!

Sage advice from a man that has done what you've done but to a far greater excess
Personally didn't enjoy this as much as Duff's first book "It's so easy and other lies" but an enjoyable read and so much better than a hundred and one self help books that profess to be experts on the same subject.
