Super useful for getting off oil filters that were installed with the power of the Holy Trinity. Very simple to use and it seems pretty durable.

Easy to use to remove only. Will not work for installation. Handy otherwise for what I need.

Love this claw over any oil filter wrench, grips nice, does the job every time. position it evenly and it will crush an oil filter before it slips. Very nice for those oil filters changed by God himself. Easy to use with most flex head ratchets for different positions. Do not use on cartridge style filters, (bmw Mercedes dodge Kia etc.) as these require the proper size oil filter sockets. Prefer to use a ball detent button ratchet for easy removal of tool. Otherwise snap on ratchets grab a little hard and be clumsy to remove. Essential technican/mechanic tool due to the frequency of disposable filters in light duty automotive and value.

I've actually owned a Matco branded version of this tool for quite awhile, which at the time I bought it (likely not the case these days), was just a rebranded version of this GearWrench tool. Probably one of the best tool purchases I've ever made since this tool has never failed to take off any oil filter I've used it on (from narrow Honda filters, up to large diameter truck filters) and I still use the exact same one to this day (7-8 years of professional use). Ended up ordering one here on Amazon for somebody else to replace a cheap one they had that didn't work on Honda oil filters and a couple of my coworkers have ordered these as well as this version isn't expensive, is well built and works on the widest variety of spin on oil filters. Just keep in mind this tool only removes the old oil filter, you still need to spin the new one on yourself. But for anyone who changes oil frequently, you'll really appreciate having this tool around, especially when you have a really stubborn oil filter.
