More gripping and engaging stories for children around 7-8 years old. Fits in well after the Secret Seven, which is perhaps for a slightly younger audience, and the Famous Five series.Perhaps a little old fashioned for some, but children are likely to to engage well with these stories as they themselves play detective and study the clues and try to work out who the culprit in the story is.Purchased after my daughter enjoyed a rather old and tatty copy of the Mystery of the Disappearing Cat [book 2 of the series] that I've had since childhood. At £24.99 it was a veritable bargain for a 15 book set. Perhaps the only let down is that they don't have the delightful illustrations the originals had. But overall a fantastic set of books.

I did wonder about these book but ideal for the very young and the very old like me. Not surprisingly there are many similar stories but I don’t think anyone could do better

The books look great and are an Xmas gift for my Great Granddaughter I know she will love them.

I really enjoyed reading these books as a boy they were in a bookcase in the bedroom of my much older brother and I am still puzzled who bought them because only I would have been interested in reading them. My life had more mystery than Enid Blyton could possibly have written about. It would have been brilliant if these books had been made into television or film productions maybe the constant ridiculing of Mr Goon made the screen possibility not that viable. Very nice and attractive presentation box that contains pretty varied coloured books that are different to the original versions with pictures of girls and boys in somewhat appropriate situations to the storyline although Buster the Scottie is rather carelessly represented as a different larger type of dog. Maybe the photoshoot could have delayed until a Scottie could have been found.

I read these when I was a child and am glad they are still in print for my 7 year old daughter. It's nice to have stories that are interesting and fun for either boys or girls. You do have to spend some time explaining the concepts and words as you go, i.e. the notion of telegrams, how shops used to be before supermarkets, steam trains. It is worth it though, as the plot for each book is complicated enough to discuss who could have done it throughout, yet also easy enough that they can work it out before the end. "I told you Mummy, that it was .......... ." They encourage solo reading and although the language and grammar is not modern, it is a refreshing change to fairies, kittens and unicorns.Lovely for both girls and boys, be prepared to make your own wigs and disguises.

Bought for a grandson, I took the opportunity to reacquaint myself with the books I loved as a child but had largely forgotten other than a few odd details. I loved the the books and devoured them over a couple of weeks. The stories are full of imagination and lovely touches that make for complelling reading. The collection is a great way of getting the whole collection at an amazing price. Brilliant purchase!

This is amazing value. My children absolutely love the 5 find-outers and it was becoming impossible to find individual books (they are fairly dated now). Buying these solved everything and now my children want to keep them for their own children. Absolutely fantastic books, especially if you prefer traditional books, which we do. Thank you!

These arrived in a speedy delivery and my children absolutely love them! I read these as a child and my children are fascinated that Mummy was once a child who loved what they are now living. I am equally enjoying reading the stories to my youngest [not quite a free reader yet!] so I am also getting to enjoy them again.I am so surprised these have not been given the Hollywood treatment yet! Great stories full of adventure and mystery.The book company are definitely honest and strive to deliver a perfect service. I would buy from them again and you can buy with confidence.
