I bought this specifically for the purpose of maintaining my 25 year old horse that can't stand for the farrier anymore due to Ligament problems. My plan was to use it at night when she's laying down. I used it on all 4 of her hooves last night and it worked perfectly. I also used it on my other barefoot horse and it was so easy to use. I will be able to skip a trim from the farrier so it's will already have paid for itself. I'll see if I can get away with just using this and skip the $50 professional hoof trimmings that I've been paying for every 5 weeks. A friend of mine recommended this product. She has both the white and black and prefers to use the white. I have this black one and so far I LOVE it.

I had my farrier test this before I used it and he said it was really good and ok for me to use between trimmings. I tried it for the first time last night and I like it a lot. However, it takes a LOT more elbow grease than I thought it would, guess I am not as strong as my farrier. I was only able to get a little bit of the edge off. Also, I wish there was little more safety space between the blade and the edges because I was a bit worried that as I was pushing so hard with my right hand & trying to hold the foot still with my left hand, I was worried I would slip and run it across my left hand. Guess it just takes practice. I will update my review later if I get better at it. But it fits great in your hand, I just wish the blade hand more safety buffer. And the magnet on the back is very strong, it’s a great idea. Overall it seem a like a great way to keep the toes trimmed in between official trims. Definitely not as easy as the farrier makes it look :)

Easy to use and works well. I use both this rasp and the white radius rasp between trims with my farrier to keep my horses hooves healthy and crack free. I feel the price is a bit expensive seeing as how I use them sparingly BUT shipping was quick and I got what I paid for. I wish they would combine both rasps together in a package deal and knock $5 off while combining shipping. Would have been a nice option. I like that the magnet inside allows me to easily store it on my barn door within easy reach and I always know where they are located. I’m happy with my rasps and my horse has happy feet.

Sounds good but reality is it takes a lot of effort to really knock the edge off of the hoove. Good for maintenance between farrier if you use it weekly.

I purchased both the "Original" and the "Pro" as recommended and it was definitely worth every penny. Much better than Heller Riders Rasp. Easy to use and relatively quick in removing excess hoof wall and the roll effect is great!
