Poor QC, tee was not level.
The tee is not level in the globe, so you will not be able to get the ball to sit on it. No Quality Control. Returned item.

Challenge Accepted
I remember buying one of these for my Grandfather when I was little. I spend many hours in my Grandpas office trying to get that ball on the tee. I can still hear him laughing with joy when I got it on the tee. Saw this browsing through for office gadgets, had to buy it for my office. Now everyone stops in for a few minutes a day to talk and try to get that dang ball on the dang tee!
