I've only had this about 3 days. I bought it as an emergency inflator for my motorcycle. I have a battery powered tiny compressor but that lives inside one of my side bags and obviously the day I get a flat on the road will be a day I took off the bag for some reason. Anyway, all I can comment on is: Perceived build quality - Excellent, feels rock solid, nice texture, great feel. Inflator tube also looks very good. Appearance - Looks Great. I went with the gunmetal-ish color and it's very attractive. Not a criteria I cared about but I thought I'd mention it for those who might care. Ease of use - Very straightforward, getting the tube out, attaching it and then attaching the end of the schroeder valve onto my bike's tire was cake. bonus points for it letting less air out than any of my other pumps or compressors when attaching to the valve Pumping performance - For it's size it's phenomenal. About 100 pumps to go up 0.5 psi on my motorcycle tire once I had it up to 35 with the compressor. If you are buying this for a bicycle I think you will be very pleased. For a motorcycle if you had a full on flat you should expect to pump it probably north of 1,000 times to get to pressure (much less to get it to road-worthyness to then ride to a gas station to get it to pressure) but understand that this is a last resort type scenario and I'm prefectly satisfied with performance. Durability - hard to say but I will say that the fact that the tube lives INSIDE the pump is a fantastic design feature which should substantially increase lifespan for that portion of the pump. The only thing I will say is that in retrospect I wish I'd bought the version of the pump that doesn't have a built in "pressure gauge." The pump is so great at not losing air when you attach it/detach it that there is little to no benefit to that very crude indicator and I suspect that the day this pump fails it will fail at one of the joints on the hose... the no-pressure indicator hose version would have half the failure points.

I've had this pump for a little over a month but have only used it a couple of times here at home just to test it out. Build quality, fit and finish is superb. I can't yet comment on long term durability, the pump sure feels and looks like a quality build. While not absolutely necessary for emergency repairs when not at home, the pressure gauge (integrated into the hose) is a nice addition. I bought this as a backup to CO2 which I also carry. I should also say that I paid full price for the pump and was given no discount. The tires on my bike are 700 X 38 with the pressure range listed on the tires as 50 to 80 PSI. I keep the front tire at 60 psi and the rear tire 65. I never tried filling a tire from zero psi with this pump but from 60 to 65 psi it took about 20 pumps. Based on that I'm guessing it will take around 250 pumps or so to get it up to 65 psi in my 700 x 38 rear tire. Pumping certainly isn't as easy as with my floor pump or as fast ( I didn't nor should I expect it to be) but it is doable, just expect a bit of a work out. One minor issue I have when using this pump with my presta valves is as I screw the hose on to the valve the hose tends to tighten up the screw on the valve that lets the air in (or out!). To get around this I unscrew the valve as far as I can and tighten it a bit, problem solved... my presta valves do not have removable cores. On the plus side there is virtually no air loss when I remove the pump's hose. The built in gauge is pretty accurate considering is goes in 20 psi increments. So if the pressure you're after is anything other than 20 lb increments, it is a bit of a guess how far to go, say between 40 and 60 on the gauge. Even so you should be able to get the tire to within 5 psi or better of what you want. When I filled the tire from 60 to 65 psi I did so with the mark on the gauge reading just barely above the 60 psi mark. When I checked it with a Topeak digital gauge I got a bit lucky and it in fact read 65 psi. My one sticky point which I did not take any stars off for is the mounting bracket. Yes it holds the pump securely to the bike but when I mount it to the seat tube I must place the pump with the handle (the part you "pump" with) down. In that position dirt, water, whatever can drop into that handle. Turn it the other way and the pump is too low to mount because it hits the crank on the left side or the derailleur on the other side. I could mount it to the down tube with no issues. However I solved the seat post mount problem by putting on a thin O ring I had to cover the gap between the handle and the body of the pump. To their credit, I contacted Pro Bike Tool in the hopes they had another mounting solution. To their credit the sent me a new mount version within just a few days. Turns out it was the same mount I already had. They tried to make things right and based on their communications with me and honest attempt to help out I would rate their customer service top tier. Update 10/15/18: Pro Bike Tool must have read my review about receiving the same mount I already had. A few days after I posted the review here comes two mounts in the mail. One like I already had and another one with a different design with a velcro closure. The new design (new to me) has tighter mounts that snug better to the lower part of the pump and with the attached velcro fastener everything works much better for my bike. The other style may work better for others depending on how and where they mount the pump. With this second effort from Pro Bike Tool I must say their customer service is top notch and a lot better than most. If they have something I need I won't hesitate to order from them again.

Motorcyclists need a pump and patch kit, too. The various electric pumps all have negative reviews for reliability, so I decided to get a small manual pump. This pump is rugged and well built, and pushes a decent volume of air per stroke, increasing tire pressure about 1 psi for each 20 strokes. That's quite acceptable for airing up 5 or 6 psi when transitioning back to pavement from a dirt road. In case of a puncture it will be much better than being stranded without a pump or with a broken electric pump. It is small enough to fit under the seat in my motorcycle, a Kawasaki Versys 650. It fits easily in a top case, tank bag, or pannier bag. The frame clamp could be used as on a bicycle but I would use a velcro wrap on top to make sure it didn't pop loose. The hose is genius, allowing use on either Schrader valves (standard motorcycle, auto, and many bicycles) or Presta valves (fancier bicycles). There is enough flexibility to attach it to the valves behind those big brake discs. The screw on attachment to the valve is secure, and does not let air escape when attaching or removing it. There are grooves machined into the surface of the pump body for a solid secure grip when pumping. The only downside is the built in pressure gauge really is useless on a motorcycle. The location on the hose hides it from view behind brake discs (but would be fine for use on a bicycle). Since the pump is really meant for the much higher pressures of a bicycle tire, the gauge barely has moved at 30 psi. The pressure gauge impedes the hose bending somewhat, adding just a bit of fiddling to the process of screwing it onto the valve. So that's why it is a 4 star not a 5 star rating. If the pressure gauge were removed or if the screw on adapter were 90 degrees it would be perfect for a motorcycle. If I didn't already have a frame pump on my bicycle, I'd buy another one of these for it.

I’m the world’s biggest product skeptic, and had overlooked this inflator because I didn’t think I should take it seriously due to its tiny size. But after returning a defective brand-new $75 rechargeable tire inflator, I started looking at bicycle hand pumps — I only use a pump routinely to check and adjust my car’s cold tire PSIs. I was fascinated by this pump because of its clever design, but was dubious until I started reading the scores of near-universally positive reviews. I figured it couldn’t be that effortful to add just a pound or two of air in each of my car tires every few months. Well, the inflator arrived this week, and seeing it up close and feeling how sturdy it seems to be, I was impressed. The fittings and pump action work smoothly. Everything seems well-made, not at all flimsy. One of my tires was a pound low, tested with a quality gauge. Fitting the screw-on Schrader valve caused NO loss/leaking of tire air, nor did its removal. So simple and effective versus the common flip or press-on car tires valves. I was able to add a full pound of air to a 205/45 x 17 tire with just 50 easy pump strokes, taking under a minute. This was so much easier than the old hand-pump inflators that I’d used for decades until mine finally crapped out last month. This new inflator looks like it belongs in a museum, but it has found a worthy home in my Miata’s trunk. A truly exceptional product!!

The pump it self is a solid little thing and works great. There is a great quality feel to it. However, the pressure gauge in it doesn't work worth a darn. I already have my Trek digital mini e-pump that covers this. I wanted a backup manual pump though. Despite the pressure gauge not working, this was still worth the money to me.

High quality and ease of use surprised me for the price. Lightweight and fits in my backpack perfectly. Pump hose secures snuggly to presta and schrader valves. Pressure gauge built into hose is pretty accurate too.
