Inexpensive Fix for A Potentially Expensive Problem
I recently purchased a new laptop, only to discover that it has no VGA output (HDMI is the current signal of choice, of course). As I occasionally give presentations using a projector -- an older model with VGA input as its primary source -- I was concerned that the purchase of the new laptop was then forcing me to update my projector, which would not be an inexpensive purchase. After some research, however, I found that this simple adapter solves the issue of taking the digital signal output of the laptop and converting it to an analog signal which the projector uses. Problem solved! This is an inexpensive fix for that issue, and the adapter works perfectly.

Works. Mostly.
Works reasonably well, though either my laptop or my projector keeps "dropping" the connection. It's as if after a few minutes, the adapter disappears, the projector blanks out, and the laptop reverts to single-screen mode.I have not been able to try it with another laptop or projector yet to see if it's just my stuff or this adapter somehow.

Authentic Belkin Quality
Some of the reviews on this site have complained of bait-and-switch, a Chinese knockoff, instead of the legit Belkin device. I can tell you that I received the Belkin adapter, in an authentic Belkin box. This HDMI to VGA Projector adapter worked flawlessly for my needs -- I had to connect to an "ancient" projector. Everything plugged in and worked as expected. The item was shipped promptly and packed well. A very smooth transaction overall.

VGA on the go
New laptops no longer have the VGA connector, had to buy this but I am happy as you one item works for several computers that only have a HDMI port.Had some problems with the audio out and had to switch to the regular headphones connector.

Belkin Issue NOT a seller problem!
This Adapter is advertised, on the box it comes in, as PC Compatible. As I tried to resolve why my adapter did not work on the Belkin site, I first could not find the model listed or supported by Belkin, second almost everything that they did list or talk about was for Apple products, not PC's.Conclusion, my adapter was faulty or it was not designed to work with PCs. I would not recommend buying any of this type of product from Belkin if you want it to work on a PC.As for the seller, I would rate them a 4 or 5 star. 4 because they did not reply to my first email for help in solving a problem that could have been due to a lack of knowledge on my part. A 5 because there was no question when I asked to return the product. The immediately responded and resolved the issue.

Not for my setup...
Did not work for my PlayStation TV (basically a PlatStation Vita micro console) to my Panasonic DLP PT-D7700U projector. I had it connected through to the dedicated VGA port and to the RGB/YCBCR. Thought it might be something peculiar with the PSTV but then hooked up my VIZIO smart Blu-Ray and that didn't work either. Not sure if broken or something I'm not noticing. Otherwise feels like a well made product. Delivered quickly/undamaged and packed well. For the price it's worth the gamble to try.

Exactly what I needed!
I purchased this to connect my Xbox 360 to my older portable projector and my Jeep's stereo system for a camping trip. It worked fantasticly. The projector recognized the newly connected device, the picture was clear, and the audio was clean. Everything worked as expected. Much fun was had thanks to this little guy!

HDMI - unfortunately waves VGA 'bye bye'.
This adapter cable serves to convert a video signal from an HDMI port to a VGA jack. Audio is channeled through the standard audio port via separate audio cable. The big drawback for me is the HDMI is the latest greatest green technology, but the picture clarity was noticeably diminished when the monitor was hooked up via this adapter cable, even though the adapter cable was working properly. I had read other reviews saying this was the case with HDMI to VGA adapters. I can't understand why the industry would change a VGA cable that has only been around for several years. I returned the laptop for which I had purchased these cables altogether. This, paired with some features withdrawn with the latest laptops on the market, led me to conclude the days were better several years ago than they are with the latest trends in technology.
