Solid, one piece icepick
I bought this icepick to replace the one in the photo, the one with the wooden handle. The reason the wooden one needed replacing is because the head of the icepick is only screwed into the wooden handle and it would never hold position. The new icepick - with the black rubber handle - is bigger, heavier, and appears to be one piece. Works well and worth the extra money.

Beautiful, well designed bar accessory
Has a nice heft, well designed and no wood to splinter or chip on the handle. Worth the few extra $$.

This thing is great!
It's more than an ice pick. It's a conversation piece. It's an ice carving knife. It's a knife for cutting garnishes. There's nothing it can't do. This bad boy has held an edge like a champ and hasn't let me down yet. My only complaint, and it's more of a preference, is the unfinished wood handle. As you know, handling ice means water and water is rough on untreated wood. After a while the texture of the handle just became unpleasant. However, the handle never lessened in sturdiness or quality. I lathered it up in some linseed oil and it pretty much resolved the issue. You will find the same issue with the sheath, but it's much less of an issue.

Slightly ill-assembled but a great blade
The tang of the blade isn't very well fixed in the hilt, but the blade itself is very good at carving ice, which is after all its main purpose! The handle and sheath are both handsome wood as depicted in the photo.

Ice is No Match for This Beast!
Due to a faulty ice maker in my expensive Samsung refrigerator (which they can't or won't fix), I resorted to buying an ice maker and storing the ice in the freezer. Often times, the ice clumps together so I needed something to break up the ice. I didn't want one of those cheap long pointed picks so I opted to buy the Barfly Ice Pick. It is extremely sturdy, very well crafted and has three different heads to choose from to break up the ice. I will never need to buy another ice pick. It's more expensive than other products but well worth it!

Wow, best ice breaker I've found
Barfly M37062 Ice Pick Chipper. It's more like an "ice fork". I have a few other ice chippers: an ice pick, an ice hammer, and an ice tapper. This is the only one that really works. I used an ice tapper for years and it did a good job until the metal ball broke off, then an ice hammer that just made a mess, and an ice pick that is just plain dangerous and not very effective, especially when it goes straight through the ice and into the table...This one breaks up clunks much better without ice flying everywhere, you don't need to hit the ice as hard, just a bit more strategically. You can still hit the ice with so much force that it shatters the ice and keeps going through the bag or to the table, but nowhere near as bad as an ice pick. I've only used it on frozen bags of store-bought ice cubes, not on a big block of ice, but there is a metal cap on the handle so you could pound it with a hammer if necessary.

Freaky looking & Too large (But solid)
I thought these would be great as they're larger than your average ice tong and not flimsy like most ice tongs. They're great but they belong in a movie set or at a Renaissance fair as they look very costumey or theatrical!! They're very heavy and just too large for my barcart AND my hand. They DO pick up a large square ice cube that is so in vogue these days - you do get a good grip with them and that's the saving feature. Otherwise, they look a little scary and not fun like I had envisioned something from the last Century that would entertain my guests! The craftsmanship is good, these just aren't for me!

Not for left handed folks
This knife is fantastic. It cuts through ice like butter, is insanely sharp yet does not easily blunt which I expected with ice. It also looks great, although considering the price the unfinished wood handle feels cheap and like it won't last long considering it gets wet every use.My biggest gripe is that this is totally unusable if you're left handed, and no left handed option exists. Most knives are sharpened with a right handed bias but can be easily adjusted, this thing has a wedge on it like you wouldn't believe, and actually cutting left handed would almost certainly result in injury.
