Well, Odette seemed to notice the whistle the first time we blew it, but really it just seemed an annoyance to her. She still barks at every little object blowing across the road. Maybe I should have read the instruction booklet first.

I hadn't really heard much about whistle training until I got this kit. Now that I've looked into it a bit more, I can see why both are great to have together. Each dog is different (ours is a 4 year old mini poodle mix that we adopted a year ago. We know little of her history before us...) so training is definitely an individual thing.For our girl, we are planning on using the whistle more for recall and to stop barking. Those are the 2 times where distractions (other people/noises) will make the clicker impractical. We put her through a 6 week training course that helped improve some of her behaviors in general but I think we'll use the clicker to reinforce the things she knows, train her to not jump up, and maybe learn some new tricks down the road.I can't say our girl was magically trained overnight, because that has more to do with the human and their consistency, but I'm glad to have the tools to help. I had hoped for perhaps some short instructions/tips to come with them to get us started but there's enough info on youtube that I wasn't too disappointed. They did email me a free training book but I haven't been able to get to reading yet. I browsed and it looks helpful, but I don't think it specifically addresses whistles/clickers.I received this product at a discount for an honest and unbiased review.

Great for dog training
Best dog training tool! These both train you dog so fast. They hate the sound of the whistle and always give in. Every time my dog did something wrong I blew the whistle and my dog would stop. Just the sight of the whistle scares my dog but now he listens and barley barks. The clicker was the warning for my dog before I blew the whistle so he knew it was coming. I purchased this at a discount to give my honest review.
