Engineered for moving faster and lighter on all terrain, the MTN Trainer Lite Mid also performs well on rock. Its highly wear-resistant, but lightweight, TPU-coated fabric upper has suede inserts for stability and is coupled with GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort lining for durable waterproof protection without sacrificing breathable comfort. The unique lasted mid-cut boot construction includes our trademark 3F system that connects the instep, sole and heel to ensure a comfortable, supportive and flexible fit. This is further supported by the shock-absorbing EVA midsole for long-lasting rebound. For additional stability and protection, there is a flexible ankle cuff, heel stabilizer and rubber toe cap. Overall your foot has good freedom of movement, yet still feels well supported. With climbing lacing right down to the toe to allow fine-tuning for greater precision in technical terrain. Underfoot, the outsole guarantees reliable grip thanks to the Pomoca compound rubber and tread pattern with deep lugs and grooves and the versatility to cope with a wide range of terrain from mud and grass to rock, ice and snow. The men’s MTN Trainer Lite Mid is a lighter mid-top, 3-season alpine footwear solution for technical hikes, and long backpacking routes in all weathers.

Very comfortable and supportive from day one
Really can't rate Salewa boots highly enough amazing all day comfort, great fit for wide feet and amazingly supportive, I've never needed to break them in and blisters have never been an issue despite many trails and mountain climbs undertaken with the several pairs I've had over the years.Only issues to bear in mind, despite the goretex and water resistance claims I've found all the Salewa boots I've owned do let water in like a sieve and the soles are not hard wearing at all, I burn through Salewas quicker than any other boot and unfortunately not been able to have them resoled, I've contacted customer services about this as it seems massively wasteful sending boots to landfill when it's only the soles that need replacing but they unfortunately don't have a repair option for UK customers to extend the life of their kit.

Good boots
Coming from a Salomon quest 4dx boot user to these,Keeping this short and simple, i have worn these over 2 weeks now on daily dog walks on Dorset coastline. These are comfortable and have a good grip, at times they dont feel waterproof but I think this is due to the nature of thin material used on the walls. The laces were something to get used to on the initial use bit once set they have been fine and feel good around the ankles once tied.

Utterly useless boot
So, 900km use in 14 months and they are falling apart. I've never had such a badly made boot in my life.Last time I buy from SalewaPrevious Review: Really comfortable, but terrible for wet conditionsSo, plus points... Very comfortable, good fit, lacing and grip. They seem to be waterproof, mostly. The bad: when they get wet, they squelch. Something between the sole and the inner seems to trap water. And they STINK. They smell of wet dog. Not smelly feet smell, but damp wet stinky dog smell. Even after only being worn on a few wet outings, they can't be worn in polite company. So a waste of money, as they are used, but almost unwearable.

Lightweight and sturdy
Not as much flex as I wanted but I'm sure that would improve with use, reasonably light, surefooted,I would definitely have kept them, but for pressing on an old injury, shame great boots.

Do not get these boots
I have had two pairs of these boots the latest pair have lasted 5 months, all I do is walk the dog. On both sets the material on the inside of the both ankles has perished, it sort of explodes outwards. The rubber toe cover splits, the laces fall apart and they are far from waterproof. They are comfortable straight out of the box, although the second pair seems to have a thinner sole. The tread pattern also picks up gravel and you will be constantly picking the stuff out. So I would look somewhere else for a pair of boots, why is it that unless you pay over £300 you are unable to get a good pair of boots?TLDR: Material perishes and fails, not water proof, toe box fails and splits, laces are rubbish and the sole is getting thinner. Had two pairs, never again.

Not waterproof
Whilst the boots are comfortable and have good grip, they leak badly. It doesn’t take long for you to have wet feet on a rainy day.
