China - but you won't get this quality for anywhere near this price in the USA.

Is the jaw full opening 4 inches because the drawing on the left of the page indicates 76mm max opening, which is about 3 inches?

Your response was on February 1st as shown above and today is the 17th and just received the 4"X3" vise and there is no measurement of this vise that equals anything close to 4". The Jaw opening on mine measures 3.107" a little less than 3 1/8". So now I have a vise that I thought was close to a 4 " opening and is only about 3 1/8". I just looked at the drawing again on Amazon and it shows a max jaw opening of 76mm and mine measures 78.9mm which is consistent with my 3.107" I measured. Maybe you have a mixture of the 4" X 3" vises with some manufactured to the wrong specs or these have the wrong stickers on them that indicate a 3" X 4" vise? The knurled knob shows a hole. Is this a through hole that can be used to insert a tightening bar. 1/8”?

There are four (4) holes blind holes that are ~6mm diameter and ~9mm in depth. They work fine for using a tightening bar. (I machined my tightening bar out of a leftover piece of round stock.)
