Fantastic. After about a week of wear, it's consistently running about 0.25 seconds per hour fast. Or about three minutes a month. I hack it every morning to NIST, but it's nice to know the movement is so well regulated. I plan to have it a long, long time.Edit: We have settled in. She had been gaining 6 seconds per day, but a month and a half after the above review, she's averaging 0.75 seconds per day of gain. Wildly impressive for an automatic, let alone one in this price bracket. I mean, it's out performing watches that cost 10 to 100 times more. Will update if accuracy suffers. Or somehow improves. There's really not much more room for it to get better, but we'll seeI've stopped re hacking each morning, instead, I rehack with a few seconds lag vs nist and will re hack when I've a few seconds gain vs nist. I wear it all day, no scratches or damage yet (Knock on wood). I take it off to sleep and have it rest Crown Up overnight. The approximate 15 hours of wear each day keeps it plenty topped off - I don't have to manually wind at all. I notice a lot of people looking at it. Looks great on a plain nato strap.

The cheapest Bulova I own, but for some reason have found myself wearing this more than my Marc Anthony and Frank Sinatra Editions. Goes great with a plane black T-shirt and blue jeans.

As a watch is very good! It's kind small, very light, beautiful, the japanese mechanism works pretty good (it's losing 4 seconds per day so it's OK).The only bad thing is that the strap It's like a synthetic fabric, very thin and I don't think it's of the quality that a Bulova deserves.

Even though I work in tech, I still like an old-fashioned mechanical watch. I think this watch is attractive in its simplicity - it is easily readable and it is not busy - it is not "too much" to look at. It is not too large in circumference. It is a little thicker than I prefer but still not too bad. This watch has more of an old-fashioned, rounded look to it that I like. Maybe it is how the lugs are configured?This watch is more accurate than some mechanical watches I have that I paid twice as much for. I found with my particular watch that it runs a few seconds a day slow when I wear it but it runs a few seconds fast if I leave it face-down overnight - it seems to balance out so overall I can go a surprising number of days - I think a week or more - before I feel like I want to reset it. And it has a "hacking" feature so it is easy to set to the second.The watch seems rugged. I have gotten conflicting info on whether the crystal is sapphire or glass so I don't know. I have worn it daily and I have not noticed any scratches. But my normal adventures are trips to the office or the grocery store and not, say, rock climbing. The lumen is adequate but not spectacular.This is one of the best options you will find if you are looking for a simple, inexpensive but well-made mechanical field watch.

A newly-commissioned officer or an enlistedman finding himself with money in the bank after a deployment or something, who is looking for something lasting to show for his time in the Service might be considering one of several “field watches” available today: a Seiko SNK, Hamilton Khaki, Marathon General Purpose Mechanical, this watch or something similar: basic watches with relatively small, non-reflective cases, coaxial 24 hour scales (usually) on black, green or tan dials with luminous hands and markers, that are tough enough to withstand all extremes of weather a serviceman might encounter and which will hold up for one’s entire tour of duty and finally serve as a wearable memento and heirloom for a lifetime after. That “lifetime” requirement rules out anything quartz, to me.Crucially, a field watch must not be so valuable that one cannot risk losing it; and I don’t even recommend saving your good watch for garrison duty and going out with a cheap digital watch instead. In my experience you are more likely to lose a nice watch by theft in the barracks than by accident in the field. And what will your memento really mean if it didn’t accompany you when you were doing the things you will remember some day? This from experience: the watch that all of my memories are associated with is a G Shock that I still have, not the nice Omega I bought near the end of my last tour. Not to mention that digital watches have an uncanny ability to sound chimes and alarms at the worst possible moments.Of course, more field watches are sold to civilians than military, just as dive watches and pilot watches outnumber divers and pilots. But I think each should be true to its form, just the same. And I find this watch very true to form. Simple, without the day and date complication of the Seiko that for me would always be wrong, and even when set right looks wrong in context. Non-reflective, with its vintage-style domed acrylic crystal instead of the glint of the modern, flat uncoated mineral glass of the Hamilton. And with the special feeling of permanence of a solid stainless steel case instead of the composite case of the Marathon.There are always downsides. That self-winding movement is thick compared to the hand winding movement in certain versions of the Hamilton. Balancing that out is that the Bulgari looks better on a two-piece strap than the Hamilton, saving some thickness over a NATO. An acrylic crystal will need to be polished regularly. And the Hamilton with its ETA movement has more prestige and better resale value the Bulgari with its (entirely servicable) Miyota. But I’m good with all that.Overall I am very satisfied with this watch, and would recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic field watch.

Great looking watch! My son loved it and wears it everyday. It is both rugged and stylish. It is a great watch that can be dressed up or used every day. Not too flashy or bulky.
