Easy to assemble, sturdy, and a great price!! Looks just like the chairs my grandparents had!!

First, I want to start by saying how much I loved the look of this chair, I wanted it very badly. And once assembled, it is beautiful. But the keywords are “once assembled”. I really thought it would only take me an evening to put it together, after all, there are only a few pieces. Well, the first night I spent two hours trying to put in four very small bolts. Doing it alone, I had to balance it on the bench, leaning up against a table. The seat and the back, of course, are metal and very heavy. Honestly, you need three people to assemble this. So I turned it over to a member of my family who is my go-to person for assembling, And who has never had trouble completing any of my other requests. I have seen this person put together far more difficult pieces, But I underestimated this simple chair. It didn’t take long before. I observed their very angry frustration. At that point, I thought that if this person couldn’t do it, I would have to return it. I was very sad about that because I desperately wanted this chair. I called Amazon and explained, telling them that I thought the bolts were the wrong size, and that they offered no clear instructions, other than the sheet that came with the chair. And you know how some bad instruction sheets to go, this was one of those. Amazon said they would get in touch with the manufacturer. I told them that the chair pieces were packed so tightly in the box that I had to cut it to get the pieces out. Therefore, I had no way to package it. Amazon reassured me that they would just have the manufacturer ship me the packaging. I thought, well, at least I can send it back now. Many days past, it had been a week and with the exchange of emails with the manufacturer, who did not mention sending the packaging, they resent me the same lousy instruction sheet, which, of course, was no help at all. I soon learned that they had no intentions of sending me the packaging material. They also informed me that it was imperative that I ship the chair back with all the original packaging in the same order it came. I got the idea they were not happy about accepting my return. Well, since they didn’t send me the packaging, a return was impossible. I had no alternative than to hire a professional assembler to put this chair together. They admitted to me that it was tricky, even after those initial four bolts were secured, there is a difficult tension problem when you apply the legs to the actual chair and that requires brute strength. Therefore, if you want this chair, plan on it being much more than the manufacturer’s asking price. $$$I am very skeptical of the other reviews, they did not indicate they had any trouble assembling. That is very hard for me to believe.

I ordered a pair and I am so thrilled with these chairs! I put them together myself, and they are so sturdy andgood-looking! The price is very reasonable for their high quality! ( I have put together a lot of furniture pieces and remarkably this company actually included some extra hardware "just in case", as I've always thought would be good customer service). Bravo overall for these retro chairs!!!
