Somewhere between student and artist grade
Though these are "professional watercolors" they dont really keep up with artist grade paints like mgraham or shinhan PwC extra fine. The colors are extremely vibrant on paper and I thought I'd have a bit of a struggle getting neutral tones but they mix wonderfully and are very easy and fun to work with. While I think they really are a step below artist grade watercolors, I wouldn't really say they're student grade either seeing as in direct comparisons they blow w&n cotman and other student grade paints out of the water! They set up in a folding palette box very nicely without any cracking or flaking out though they do tend to stay a bit tacky even after being left out to dry and set up for a few days. But I find myself coming back to thos set again and again for sketchbook and illustration things because they're so fun and easy to use! Not chalky at all and very easily activated and ready to go! Considering how affordable they are compared to other lines of paint in this tier I highly recommend these, they're amazing!

It is a good paint
The colors are beautiful, smooth textured, and easy to get a beautiful transparent wash to layer flower petals as light as I want or and strong as I want...layering is lovely. Looking forward to future purchases of added colors if needed.

Nice assortment of colors and of a too quality. I am pleased with the way they handle.
Nice color assortment. I've only started to use them, but I like what I've seen so far. The paint goes on nicely and reacts to blending very well. I haven' t used them to paint a picture yet and I think from what I have done with them so far that they will ework very well

Great paints for beginners
I am a watercolor beginner. I started with a cheap pallet. Lots of colors, great to try out the process but dries chalky. Then bought some Windsor and Newton. Nice but limited colors and pricy. Decided to try this brand bc of the good reviews and nice price. I love them!!!! Great colors, so vibrant and creamy. Still need lots of practice and I will definitely buy this brand again.

Highly recommend for experienced artists
I'm an intermediate watercolorist and wanted to try out this set before splurging on really high end paints. I don't know that I will ever need to upgrade. These are wonderfully pigmented and do well in dry pan form as well. My only regret is not buying the larger set.

If you are wondering if you should buy them, ...
If you are wondering if you should buy them, you should. Colors are vivid because they are highly pigmented. Fair price for a high product product.
