Marquis by Waterford Markham Double Old Fashioned Glasses, Set of 4

The Marquis by Waterford double old fashioned set is fabulous! The cut and clarity are exquisite! It almost sounds like I'm describing a diamond... The set is flawless and they have a nice prism reflection within the glass! Each tumbler weights in at 13.3 oz. and holds 11 fluid oz right to the rim.This set is a great value for the high quality!

Exactly what I wanted

I just know the name Waterford and figured I'd get these for my girlfriend for her birthday. Her normal drinking glasses were breaking, seemingly just by breathing on them. These looked heftier and sturdier, so I gave it a go (especially as a gold box deal, why not?). I did this even though I knew it was a gamble, based on other reviews for various glass products from Amazon where broken glass was par for the course.UPS seems to have some sort of policy on the minimum amount of damage they require their drivers to make on a shipment, and this was no different. The first shipment came in with a broken glass. Amazon was great in expeditiously sending a new set of glasses, this time all intact.I know that Waterford are supposed to be amazing, and even as an entry level set, these are "ooh, shiny!" and can hold their own (tipped on hard surfaces and in the sink, not from high up, of course). So, I'm not sure what that minimum amount of damage/movement required by UPS law is, but it was greater than the abuse we'll put these through, so I'm very satisfied with this set and would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent product for the "Marquis" line of Waterford. If you are looking for the high-end look without the high-end price tag...then you won't be disappointed. I found the glasses to be a little lighter and the etching not quite as deep or refined but 99% of people wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I am very pleased and they look great sitting with my bourbon collection. You won't be disappointed!

These are quality glasses for the price. As for the size, they are a bit wider than the average double old fashioned glasses - but unless you have extremely tiny hands this should be a secondary concern. Otherwise, these glasses are great looking and easy enough to care for. You can certainly bring them out with guests and for normal occasions. Now, nobody will mistake these for "luxury" old fashioned glasses that run $250+/4 but they are nice and given the price it's an absolutely great buy.
